Well, that to.

...but this thread isn't about milestones. It's about who gets the most before Aug. 1st.

My heart may be with Colesie winning it, but my money is still on you.

My favorite Claeyt posts:

Claeyt wrote:So this goes under the headline, Don't **** where you eat. Especially in Roanoke.

A group of friends of mine were setting up a new mining camp, and were busy little beavers, digging and mining when their place got hit. Someone stole a boat, took 2 chests full of nice inspirationals out of a lean to and cut up all the fish they'd been saving for some reason. That person then sailed away, then blew the boats and chests so they couldn't be tracked and left nothing but claim tracking. They thought they'd be safe back in the darkness over the mountains but as we'll see the mystery deepened.

My friends called on me to hunt down the perp, and their trail led to where the darkness used to be, but since it's been moved it was relatively easy to get to and will be relatively easy to hit. My guess is a single member of the Town called 'The Order of the Crimson Rose' hit a claim near them without permission and thought there's no way this newb digger has Ascent to the Summit or can go this far in the time it would take. But they didn't expect me. Bwuhahahhhahahahahhaha (evil laugh).

These fat rosie faced monks are ripe for the picking. It's a sweet 3 biome base near the darkness with a nice big lime pit next door, Their town is 4x4 cells in area and is larger than most that I've seen. They have a lot of fences, not a lot of Braziers that I saw, I counted well over 50 piles of coal so there's probably a mine somewhere in the middle, there were many roses and they're prone to leaving all their gates open for people to just walk right in and look around. I got 2 fences deep before I even hit the town. I could have summoned and killed the jackass who robbed my friend but then I, the lone hunter that I am would leave evidence for them. And who wants to be hunted for the next week. So here's how this is going to go down.

Either:

1. 'The Order of the Crimson Rose' pays me 10,000s (5,000 for me, 5,000 for my friends) and never hears from me again as long as they leave my friends on the hillside alone. Their location and screenshots of the mini-map stay hidden forever.

2. I now have a homestead claim in my pocket. I will plant that claim, expand it and let any group bounce there on my homestead secret for the right price. (Russian, MM tribe, or any other big group of raiders that want to make a name for themselves, I'm looking at you Vikings) These guys aren't treaty members, or at least haven't followed any treaty protection protocol that I know of. They have literally wiped out whole forests of Maple trees, and scarred the Earth for miles around. The bidding starts at 2000s to compensate my newb friends. Please Pm me with any offers, Bidding stops next Wednesday , when I will take the highest bidder. You can stop the bidding at anytime by meeting the 10,000s price.

3. If there are no bidders I will simply post their exact location coordinates, screen shots of the mini map, and possibly let anybody who wants to bounce out there to mess with their town or so that they can plant a spy near their town and take whatever they want at a later date.

I await your offers.

50s eh? How will you hold it all?

hey 50s x 5. 250s nothing to sneeze at, but it's always been more about the point of just getting back at them for hitting my newb friends camp and 2 or 3 other nearby camps. How about you Ornery, wanna come take them out or plant a spy next to their town? I'll give you a free pass next Wednesday.

Claeyt wrote:... They raided 2 camps of friends of mine and another camp of someone I didn't know.

Interesting, first it was ONE camp now TWO...
Your imaginary friends got more camps? When are you going to tell us about them? :)

As always, arguing with Darnokpl is becoming more and more pointless, I don't even know why I bother. Everybody else gets it but him.

1. I started tracking the raiders from my newb friends mining camp.
2. I had known that a neighbor of their's got raided several days before, I received further information that the Crimson Rosie's had done this also. I also received evidence from that raid.
3. I then heard from yet another friend in the area that he had also been raided. I went and collected evidence and ported to my lean to next the Rosie's thus proving that they raided him too.

I hope this makes it clear. None of these friends are imaginary, although for obvious reasons I'm not going to reveal their names. I have many, many in game friends and acquaintances, as Rainbow proved earlier. (thanks Rainbow, you rock)

darnokpl wrote:We heard about SB ranger hero of the fort... you said you know him... but your tracking/ranger job was huge fail?

How exactly was my tracking/ranger job a huge fail? I tracked them exactly to their town, I took screen shots of their defenses, I mapped their location, I revealed that their town harbor's raiders on the forum, I sold their location for newb compensation. Justice served.

darnokpl wrote:And finally we all heard about propaganda-rangers on plymouth long time ago and I got feeling they are now on roa, since they can't gather any force on their home server ;)

What the hell is a propaganda ranger? If you mean someone who falsely charges a town with raiding for political purposes then how does this pertain to this thread. As far as I know, the Crimson Rosie's have no major player enemies, and they certainly don't in any of the forum threads. I can't even tell if they even read the forums. This is a simple case of me tracking some raiders to a town, and has nothing to do with politics.

darnokpl wrote: I am really very curious what is your real account name.

Well of course my real account name is Claeyt. That is also the name of my main character, who I don't general kin people with or go to Boston with. I have several secondary mid humour characters including the tracker/mountain climber that found the Crimson Rosie's. These secondary characters are known to my friends only and I won't reveal their names. I've probably got 4 other worker alts who don't matter. Most people know me by my merchant character which Rainbow revealed earlier. He is always willing to help newb's out with general game questions and fair trades in Roanoke. He's been offline more since I now have shared access to a stall. He has over 2000 characters memorized now, and over 500 people kinned, including you Darnokpl.

As I've stated before. I am a very nice person in game. I've never raided a claimed area or had any evidence tracking me with any of my characters. I understand the rules of raiding and PVP and really don't mind raiders who don't kill anybody, but also hope that raiders understand the other half of the rules; that they can be tracked and that their town's location will be shown or sold.

I generally only have 4 rules in Salem for myself, and if you want to be my friend, or want my help:

1. Always help the newbs. I want as many people as possible to be playing Salem. It makes the game more fun for me. By raiding obvious newb camps much lower than yours, and screwing newbs over in the market, or killing newbs for PVP practice hurts the game and hurts the amount of people who stick with the game. I'm always willing to answer questions in forum PM or in game. I remember how hard it was getting started 4 months ago when I started playing.

2. Never screw anybody over in the market, always be willing to trade stuff back if someone changes his mind.

3. Don't kill anybody unless they've killed someone you know first. It doesn't make any sense to kill anybody in a raid, when you can raid them, knock them out, leave them their character to rebuild, then raid them again a month later.

4. If your going to raid, be nice about it. Only take what you're going to use, don't throw stuff on the ground to rot, don't smash stuff for no reason. (I have one raider friend who always leaves a sign at camps he raids saying what they did wrong, "you left the wall unclaimed", "never lock your sheds or raiders will smash them open", etc...) I respect raiders who do these things, and realize it's part of the game.

For what it's worth, The Crimson Rosie's were very nice raiders. They didn't toss anything on the ground to rot, in fact they put a lot back into the boxes, They packed everything up in 2 chests, 2 boxes and the boat and left. They didn't smash anything or destroy the infrastructure. Of course that doesn't mean I can't ranger their town and sell their info so that someone can do the same to them. ;)

And that is the first and last time Claeyt talked to darnokpl.

THE END.

Man that was the worst ***** darnoking ever because he was also PM'ing me at the same time.

You can't really call what he does trolling because you can't tell if he's ***** with you or if he's somehow misunderstanding you somehow.

Anyways, I've had many, many conversations with Darnok since then, even after I found out soon after that thread, that 'The Order of the Crimson Rose' is just him and his wife's base, even after he 'tested' my braziers on my little bakery after the brazier buff update and then took nothing but some cheap pies and a handful of soot flakes and a single gingerbread man, even after he continually does the 1s less 37x in a row over 6 hours and me just matching him in my stall directly across the aisle from him and his reasoning for driving down prices to rock bottom levels was "It's all stolen anyways, I just want to get rid of it", even then I think Darnok is still a nice guy, and we agree on more than we disagree on.

He's actually a very intelligent person with some good ideas about Salem and where the game is going. He's sometimes fun to talk to and I'm glad we have him in the game. He brings an international flavor to the game and gets us away from just the Americans versus the Russians and I don't mind his darnoking to much on the forums either. It's cute. We actually agree on a lot.

You hear that Darnok. I may be your only supporter in Salem, or at least one of the few people that doesnt' want you dead. He does raid minor camps to much, but he doesn't destroy anything or take to much.

Here's a prophetic post from Darnok waaaaaay back on Aug. 23rd, as true today as it was back then:
darnokpl wrote:I have spoken with some of you and I can see that maybe one person understood what I wanted to put in this thread... sole little explanations

1. I am not interested how many players do you have in your towns, but I am very interested what towns are there and what are their mayors nicks.
So I wanted here to create simple list like:
town name mayor mayors forum name
Verde Selva Darnokus darnokpl

2. Alliances...
Most of people are afraid to say anything about them, they are acting like they would play only for win already, but we are still in closed beta, so there is no win or loose right now for single faction, group or hermit it is only win for Salem and for us all as players and members of game community.
All we have now is new updates that needs to be checked and new players that came from free give away keys that needs to be learned about perma death, not necessary in rough way.
If we get few (2-3) larger alliances, one huge would be awesome, but that will be very hard to create.
Towns in alliance don't have to love each other or send some flowers every weekend, but they can make camps for newbies and educate them, instead of trying to find way how to murder and destroy everything and everybody.
Of course if someone will settle to close to their town they should warn or visit him and force to move away, that is one of many points of this game.
All I want to create is net of town that will have other priorities than just search and destroy their enemies. Some players here are casual and that is fine, we should not scare them away from this game... imho at least not before official release or until we hit 800+ players online on server 24h per day for few weeks:)
