Those people that watched the last live stream will know what loftar's stance is on the new default camera.

In fact that live stream gave so much information and insight into the minds of jorb and loftar from numerous subtle comments about future game design and thoughts on current mechanics. All that has happened since the stream was predicted (guns, alchemical purity). If you re-watch the stream when the question about the default client was asked and specifically the camera, loftar changed his body language to arms crossed and head shaking while muttering something about proving to a 100th % that the camera was not a fish bowl. My take on it was that he was very defensive about it and since it was recently implemented I highly doubt it will change in the near future.

I've been exploring for 2 days and I have yet to find a stone wall base that's not raided, some with several layers and double or triple walls... one of the few growing cities was raided too (Axon)... all in the span of a month or two...

I wonder why people are not coming back to the grind when it's certain they'll lose effort? Specially when there's no other game around trying to get their attention? Intriguing indeed...

Well, current camera indeed is not a fishbowl. Quite the opposite. "fishbowl" camera means increased field of view. I think most 3d games utilise around 90 degrees field of view. More gives you fishbowl effect.

But what we have in Salem is orthographic projection, used in isometric games (like H&H) and theoretically it has 0 degrees FOV.

But that's beside the point. I haven't watched the stream, did Loftar use any arguments to explain this choice for camera?

You say this sarcastically, and yet I'd wager that Jorb and Loftar actually think along these terms.
