I've been thinking about it but I could never bring myself to buy it out of fear its going to be a MOO3. I'll check that review out.

I've never been a big fan of the MOO series. Fun games, but just couldn't hold my interest like others. I was always more into the fantasy when it came to games, such as Master of Magic, etc. (Have loved almost every single one of the Heroes of MM games.) I picked it up one day when Paradox had a free giveaway on their newsletter about two years ago. Alpha Centauri was probably the one 4X game with a sci-fi setting that I've played the most.

If you haven't looked at Aurora, it's so freakishly detailed you'll spend the first 40-100 hours just learning details and what can and can be adjust and what can be useful as well as effective ship fitting.

I've played MoO2, but it didn't grab me in the same way as original MoO.

Sword of the Stars on the other hand is how I spent 2007.

I've been playing ARAM customs solely for months now. I've even lost interest in that due to the poison.

I play casual league exclusively for years too, first Dominion then Proving Grounds... what works for me is ignore the chat: I leave it off the screen since you can drag it down, and it remembers the position, so I play for years without the bad part that is the chat... it's really a brilliant game, but the chat used to put me off with all the negativity... ignorance is truly a bliss in casual LoL

It boggles my mind that you have no skin at all and yet choose to play Salem XD. This equation is not balanced.

To be more specific: you can handle that your base is destroyed and thus losing hundreds hours of work in a day, but you can't handle harmless flaming XD?

I've got pretty thick skin and it gets to me sometimes. Same is true with any competitive game with live chat, though--RTS, FPS, battlegrounds in MMOs (just general chat in some), etc.

Have I ever mentioned how I miss chess club sometimes?

At least here most people are just trolling and being assholes. MOBAs are a whole new level of autism rage. Even chief acts normal when you get him out of chief mode.
