The Waste Claims is, in theory, a nerf to raiders. However, if you factor in the reduced wall hps and max brazier damage, it is now just a way of delaying the inevitable. Basically if you don't have an army, you won't be able to get to the waste claim to destroy it, thereby making you unable to defend your claim because now, once again, it will take them 5 minutes to get into a heavily defended base after they wait for the waste claim to set.

This is assuming you have a force to bring to the table. I am a single person. I make waste claim, they alt vault and possible just destroy my waste claim. One of my thieves is 40/70/40/70. Is was all about stealing. He now can do pretty much nothing but try and vulture abandoned claims or noob outposts. I only hope they make whatever changes need to be made to this system very soon, if that is adding more options, or removing this unrealistic warning system entirely. It still just makes absolutely no sense to me. There is no basis in reality to back this system, and that is what bothers me the most. It is at best a bandaid for an unbalanced system the dev's are having a hard time balancing.

If you were going to raid camp or town with 5+ people inside with that character before you can do it now too, just pick good time for your bash-window.
But please stop crying about noob camps where 2-3 guys have 10-15 biles and play 1h per day, you can still raid them alone!!!
I think you should first test it before you cry so much, if you are on ply pick some small camp put (best right now) waste-claim send me coords and I will protect it for you and we will check how does it works?

The patch isn't a hit to "raiders" as raiders have to plan their raids out ahead of time. It's a hit to thieves as they can't just break in, take things and run out, but if loftar gets the grappling/lock picking thing done, walls difficulty to grapple/lock pick scale with the wall type, and homesteads can't be switched when under a waste claim or have a 24 hour cooldown.

The patch said that walls are 150% stronger than they originally were and braziers stack to 8 damage instead of 5. I don't think this nerfed them back down to butter. You have to think about how those two things work together.

And with this waste thing being visible as a shadow, you know when you're going to be attacked and can prepare. You can even try to go out and destroy it during that window. Yeah, it might mean fighting some raiders, but I imagine that's the point of it. Must be pretty hard on the raiders too. Now they have to take the extra time of defending that thing before they can raid. And they get crime debuffs when they do attack and those prevent healing, right? How long do those take to wear off?

I don't know if this mechanic is going to work. I think I see a lot of problems and I can't wait to hear someone actually testing it and talking about it. But just thinking about it, I think it hurt almost everyone equally.

Its terrible on all sides. A good step in direction but very bad idea to use this system.
