My Theory is in short:
The guys who print the money (Federal Reserve - privately owned) probably have most people as sockpuppets in the senate/congress, to pass everything in their favor and drive their own agenda.
They own most of the media, so they will naturally make themself look good to hide their true intentions.
I believe the Federal Reserve is the place where you have to go look for the badguys. Follow the moneytrail.
