Well yeah considering the walls were inch thick and I used a knife not a razorblade lol

Knives are completely viable. Mine was done using a paring knife, french knife and table knife. I actually wish I had some other tools on hand to work with for some things, but work with what you got and have fun.

I had a variety of craft blades at hand due to my model making. It was so easy to make a slip and cut the wrong way though and I had to work very slowly cutting little bit by little bit. I am sure I would have cut myself if I had been limited to a kitchen knife. Surprisingly my metal nail file also proved very useful to get the clean edges. Its amazing what people can craft with pumpkins and Its great seeing what people come up with. Hopefully we get this contest next year and I can do a better job with what I have learnt this time.

Funny you should say that, I got a nice wound on my thumb now from a little slip   Nothing too bad though.

Bah, a little minor cut is nothing. I've encountered worse.

Oh yes I will definitely want to participate next year.

... I could've taken some pro quality power tools from my workplace, but it felt like cheating =P Too bad we don't have a CNC milling machine lol!

Thanks so much for having the contest Marp. Not only did I get to learn a new skill (though I still need more practice) but my chickens are getting a lovely treat tomorrow now the Pumpkin has served its perpose.
