Hes just joking, your going to have to wait a few days, maybe a week to get invited to a town , some times people aren't recruiting or trust you enough / value your work effort
Just keep foraging, leveling up your guy, get your humors up, dont use up your wilderness guide teleports so you can teleport using a hearth secret later
