There's
Ventrilo
Teamspeak
Mumble
that I know of... but it's been years since I logged into any...much less downloaded the client.
Often when I appear to go **** crazy on forums; it's a by product of having nobody to talk too and/or to tell me i need to take break. IDK... I'm considering a public server...for whomever feels like talking.
Anyone have experience with voice apps- good and bad... let's hear it?
Used to be the bigger the server purchased the better the options and audio quality you got? Still true?
Thanks.

Ive used TeamSpeak and Ventrillo for years, i personally prefer TeamSpeak though.
Teamspeak is good for multi-channel servers where organization and such is needed, Ventrillo is more a join and talk, useful for needing to get into chat quickly and then leaving when your done.
As for voice quality, i also prefer teamspeak, with its multiple audio options and high customization. Ventrillo is one audio encoding, which is decent.
In one sentence, TeamSpeak is simple with high customization and organization, Ventrillo is simple and fast. Both have decent sound quality.
I've never used Mumble, so i cant really say anything about it.
There is also 2 new VOIP programs that iv tested briefly, RazerComms and Curse Voice, both are alright, with average voice quality, i cant say id recommend them, since ive only used them once or twice when they first came out. Might be worth checking out of Vent/TS dont suit your needs.

Teamspeak is better than Mumble imo but you can servers for free with 10-12 slots with mumble (that you have to reorder every month to keep them alive).

There is also this new thing called discord, it allows anyone to make a server with a ridiculous amount of slots for free as well.
But out of all the things I've tried, I still prefer TS over all the other options, even though it isn't free.
