To My Dear Friends & Esteemed Clients:

Your curious eyes have spurred me on to search new heights, and what marvels I have found! Just the other day I heard the most dulcet tones coming from a Singing Old Log. Soft as silk, the melody kept me smiling all the day long. I have spirited away the wonderful creature and it is now resting safely in my shoppe. Surely, someone must have what it takes to purchase such a melodic mystery!

As always, honest trades and the King's silver are always welcome at my meager shoppe.

Your Humble Servant,
Waspo

What a curious day, even for a merchant who deals in curiosity!

Long ago, on what was actually quite an uneventful trip, I stumbled upon an abandoned cobweb in a long deserted wood. The intricacy of the pale while strands made me pause, and I could tell it was a spiderweb of high art. Presuming the artist who wove it had long vanished, I had placed it in a small box, hurried it home, left it on a shelf, and paid it no mind until this morning. Today, when I awoke, I noticed a strikingly similar web in a corner - one end hanging from the fascinating singing log I have only just acquired. In all my life, I have never seen two spiders weave the same web, so naturally I quickly fumbled about to find the small box. Do you know what I found?

The box was empty.

Now, before you accuse me of drinking, I must declare that I have sworn off spirits - both the taste and the... after effects, leave much to be desired. I was quite sure that I left the spiderweb in that box, and it is plain to see that it is now far across my small shoppe. Perhaps one of my friends is playing a trick on me? Perhaps my memory isn't what it used to be? Perhaps it is as simple as the fact that strange things happen when you spend a life collecting strange objects? Still, I must admit to my friends that I feel a strange sense of foreboding... as if storm clouds gather in far-off lands, waiting for winds to sweep into our lives.

But my concern is truly your cause for celebration! Nothing livens the humours quite like a good sale - so I'm willing to cut prices on all of my weird wares all week! Stop in and see for yourself this singing log, or any of my other namesake curios. You know the name, now come see the sights!

Your everlasting merchant of mystery,
Waspo

Oh my friends, what a day! Surely I am beloved by all, for is not merrymaking the kindest flattery?

Today I awoke early, just at sunrise, and to my surprise, the shoppe was covered in cobwebs -- spiderwebs from the floorboards to the rafters! The red sunlight of morning shown through my shop as if the Devil himself had turned my dusty home into a bloody maze of sinew. I was terrified at the sight, but as I regained my composure, I realized that this was plainly the work of friendly pranksters! Who else could it be? I am so relieved. I spent a sleepless night tossing and turning on my hay-filled cot, obsessing over how my cobweb had been moved by mystic means. But now I realize there was no dark magic at work here, simply a late-night gag that reminds me all is well in Salem. It is funny that the jesters were able to get inside without tipping off my ears, but I am obviously growing old and they are unseen like true spiders! I commend them! Huzzah!

But what is a merchant to do with so many cobwebs? To show I am a good sport and that there is no ill will, I will give them away for free! I shall give a free abandoned cobweb to anyone who wants one, while I am still in supply of the silky treats. Simply write to me and we shall arrange a time to meet in our fair city, where I will bestow on you a cobweb for the price of a firm handshake.

The rump of your beloved jokes,
Waspo

Honest trader!! Thanks so much for acquiring an item and selling it to me for a fair price. Not only did he find what I needed, he also found the amount I needed. Love the stories, I await the next one!

Hello Again Trusted Friends & Generous Clients;

The bright Summer Sun shines lovingly upon us and so far I have spent it all cooped up inside. I figured it was high time to leave my dusty shoppe and enjoy a quick jaunt to the coast. Up and down the beach I roamed, carrying only my thoughts and a paddle in a small canoe. I thought back to my beloved brother in far away Europe, to the women I've loved and lost, to the sweet melodies of that entrancing log that I long to return to... ah, nothing beats reminiscing on the beach of a strange new world such as Salem.

When I returned to land, my boat was oddly heavier than I remembered. Grunting, I heaved it upon the sand and much to my surprise the boat was covered in yards and yards of seaweed! I guess I must have been dragging it across the water, paying it no mind. It took the better part of an afternoon to clean it from my canoe, and all I was left with was a pile of the salty denizens to show for my effort. What's a mere merchant to do when faced with a pile of useless junk? Sell it two for the price of one, of course!

Yes, spend your Summer along the shore, and then stop in to Waspo's House of Curios to enjoy seaweed on sale all season long!

Surely this vile ocean weed must have a plethora of uses? A man I once met said it makes the perfect addition to a farmer's compost pile, and I would have to agree since it already stinks to high Heaven! So come and buy some, and you can tell me I'm a fool for selling it so cheaply!

Your unsinkable seaweed salesman,
Waspo
