Pocket watches are very rare thing, so this price is even understated. You can earn much more silver in other ways, instead of spend hours for hunting rabbits.

Pocket watches are not even remotely rare. With a big enough biome and satan salts you get arround 3 to 5 per hour with rabbit hunting.

Once I decided to farm pocket watches. Got 4 by killing 2500+ rabbits and spending a couple of days. Also:

Pocket watches are now in super rare loot category according to John Snow. Its not like they are one use consumable or anything.
I sincerely doubt you went 2.5k rabbits with only 4 pocket watches.
