The intersection of the groups "People that need it", "People that can't or are too lazy to otherwise procure it" and "people that can afford OP's price" are the target market, i'd say. The moment someone puts something up for sale they're aiming at the above categories, not the ones who already have a hefty supply of whatever OP's selling in the first place.

It's a big trust leap to trade with someone with reputation of being friends with well known scammers and who hides these scammers true identity.

Likely a alt of hers or town mate alt. Minimum chances a friend, otherwise she would get scammed like the rest and wouldn't do several trades in a sequence like she does. Perhaps transferring the scammed silver and items.

In my book, specially in a game like salem, if you protect them and deal with them you are one of them.

This guys Ingame name is Heartbraker. Althought Biddas have him marked as scamer kill. So other traders be aware of this scamer using this tactic to disturb your reputation.

Along the last week I've noticed different people in town complaining they had been scammed by a so called Heartbraker who had been impersonating other traders.

Today I saw this person linking to another trade thread and moments after there were again people complaining about being scammed, both in town and forum.

On closer observation of town activity I noticed this person trading various times and talking with a known salemite.

These trades where an exception to the previous scamming activities as they kept returning for more trades.

Hmm, interesting find. Are you sure Lallaith didn't get scammed as well, though? For all I know, the scammer could've told her he was giving the money back - thus linking the multiple trades. I know lalla fairly well so I doubt she would neither 1. Trade with a scammer nor 2. Get loud about it on the forums.

Sure she wasn't scammed nor was he doing several trades with her to return her the silver. If he gave her any silver it was product of his thefts in order to return it to you guys town. In fact she must have been the only person who actually traded with this guy without getting scammed. Not once, not twice, several times.
