Iunno, I think it's nice. I met a traveler today who said he was hunting bears, didn't have any luck at the time but I let him stay for a while, gave him some food and he left some Leather. If you're reading this right now you're pretty chill, thanks for stopping by and thanks for the Leather.

Hermit life is great... to a point.

Mostly a pariah these days from my own decisions... so it feels like being a hermit.

Cons:

You'll go to forums for everything- Rants, Idiocy, Trade, etc.

Nobody will watch your claim if you take sabbatical w/o your PC

Development will be dead slow, ugly even without the support of other vets

Without community nobody will help you defend your base and/or give you shelter if you know you will be over run.

Pros:

(Hopefully) nobody knows where you live

No demands other than those you make yourself

Come/go as you please (assuming nobody finds your claim/town)

Could be others...

Team play is probably one of the best aspects of Salem, I say go for it
