Temporary Ban Placements?

Postby MaxPlanck » Sat Dec 26, 2015 11:11 pm

I'm sure its possible to go through the code to sift through what just happened before the crashes
so we can start placing temporary bans on people for crashing the server on more than one occasion if they continue to do so in a short span of time.

Something like tracing the IP of all their accounts(I know this is done to prevent multiple forum accounts to ban alt forum accounts that pretend to be other people)

Then we can temp ban people and all their alt accounts for a few days to a week from playing Salem at all so that no matter how many alt accounts they have they'll have to pay for
always crashing the server when something doesn't go "their" way.

Like seriously. Its garbage that other people who aren't involved and even those involved in is the reason someone crashed it. Just take what the game is giving to you and stop whining and crashing the server.

I mean, if we do this too then we can destroy peoples towns who are always crashing the servers and they can't stop it. They deserve their towns destroyed anyway am I right?

i know who crashed the server recently and it was 100% a game bug and not a thing by force, i believe only 1 or 2 in 100 crashes are by player abuse instead of bugs.

Not all crashes are done on purpose
Also let's say 2 players play on the same IP, should both be punished if one decides to crash the server continuously?

the player who is innocient should just hit the player who crashes the server in the face till he stops i guess (since they have same ip i guess they live together or close) :?

the point is that reproducible bugs that are exploited are abuse.

Yeah. This argument is brought up all the time and it's ****. If you play on the same IP then you obviously know eachother. Friends don't let friends bug-abuse!
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

What if the other player that is innocent doesn't know about his friend's actions!

then in his heart he should be grateful that the filthy backstabbing nature of his 'friend' is brought to light.

That's if you know your friend is abusing bugs. If one person is of shady character and another is not, do you really think the shady one will tell the nonshady one they are an abuser? I play on the same IP with several people. That's what happens when you have a family and they all like games. Can't hold people accountable for babysitting any idiots that might live with them.

obviously.
Althought naturally I do not condone physical acts of aggression.
Psychological 'convincing' tends to work better. That or blackmail.
