New World, Same Old Crime

Well, after playing for a few days, settling down in Providence, building a nice little home with a stone hedge and a few torches, my door was broken down and my goods were made off with (mostly iron, dried planks, coal, among a few inspirations. I had locked gates and torches, with the plan to upgrade to braziers, but I didn't exactly have the opportunity to before my gate was plowed through people in front of a fat woman on her way to an all-you-can-eat simple supplies buffet. I can't do anything about it, but if you were to be interested in helping me get them, you can keep what they took (except maybe a few iron, so I can rebuild) and I might be able to muster up some silver for you. Thank you! My HS: Penge567

I have evidence as well as a new world survey leading to their camp. It's small, three leantos with a plank fence, but it's near a large claim which I presume they work out of.

Here's a picture of the claim I was lead to.

Plank fence for crim alts? Ok... My suggestion pack up your things and leave. At minimum do not commit a crime towards them as they will probably summon and kill you. If you feel you are not strong enough to defend yourself then do not just leave. Because if someone can has carried or robbed all the surrounding areas enough to make a plank fence or even alt ported them they are trying to get more then a few items from someone who does not even have braziers yet. I would bail.

Yeah, I can move, but they robbed all of my neighbors as well. It seems unreasonable that they can just come in and tear everything to shreds. I figured someone might be bored and interested in wreaking some old-world justice-inspired havoc. I don't want to move, I have friendly neighbors and a nice house :-/ I'll upgrade my fences, torches, and braziers in the meantime, however.

Well good luck. I would suggest you also say what server in the future. If it was on Popham there is a possibility I may be interested in seeing what is going on.

I'll give you a few hundred silver toward buying wrought iron (whether you relocate or not). I'm a newbie as well, but was lucky enough to not have criminals for neighbors. I added you, but you're offline at the moment.

Thank you very much Reviresco, but you can keep your silver

I have no problem with earning more silver, I'm just upset that I was robbed. I'll just have to work on adding more walls and some braziers instead of continuing on a less-defensive skill path

Well, good luck to you, whether you relocate or not. If you don't plan to relocate, be sure you have a lot of coal clamps burning so you'll have ammo for your braziers when you make them.
I really don't mind chipping in a little money, though, if you change your mind. I have like 7k in the bank.
