There most certainly is a reason why most of us have abandoned Salem by now. The path is very clear now, carebears do provide a larger sum of income for Mortal Moments, which is fair enough.
I simply do not wish to be lied to, using the information such as the 10 waste crimes commited a day in THEIR argument is very, very sad the least to be said. That means that there are only 110 waste crimes scents out on the entire world right now. Surely none of them are actually serious crimes, which also has to be mentioned. We would easily achieve this amount in a day, hell I myself would sometimes hit a monthly worth of current waste crimes a day. The fact that I have had ONLY two raiders the entire duration of Providence with no serious attempts made by anyone other than Darwoth (which never succeeded on my crime alts) states enough about the community.
We have dropped from doing 4% on a plank wall per tick alone to doing 4% per run with several tanks and bashers, not even counting the brick walls, let alone the iron walls. On top of that we now do have artillery for absolutely no point at all. The game has sold out its core values in my opinion. As an excuse we now do have the expeditions, however the question whether Salem is good enough to be limited to temporary servers with very few carebears is quite easy to answer for myself atleast.
Earlier it was somewhat unclear to me and I always kept hoping. They based everything upon the expedition, but admitting mistakes and fixing existing problems seems taboo. I had so many hopes over the last year or longer. They all got crushed, which ofcourse came with the nessesary tears, I have to admit that.
Conclusion for me atleast is that, just like vanilla WoW, or Old school Runescape, or alot of games. They were more fun in the earlier stages, whether thats a personal perspective is the question. I happen to have that in every game which I play for several years. I assume it is probaly human to go back to your old habits. Meanwhile we have many new people, the trade off is that my kin list is empty.
