You've to be aware that there're some "ultra-pvp" peeps who will never do anything related to building up a settlement, and who play only for combat and kills. Thay obviously need farmers and crafters to build 'n grind stuff for them. But once it turns out that actual PvP is 90% about preparation, planning and building, and that getting actual legit kills takes a lot of effort, instead of just flexing "da combat skillz"/zerging, they get bored, quit and just wait for Haven 2 to come, simply because tis easier there to **** on others without any risks.

Are they right?

I play for exploring what the game has, the crafts, the mechanics etc. I'm aware of possibility of me being raided or even killed. Without it, the game would be way less thirlling. This possibility adds some adrenaline to the play. I'm not willing to kill anyone or do any raiding before I explore all of the game aspects.

And to do all this stuff is way more interesting on Popham, than on Providence. Providence is quite an old world: you can gain silver quite easily and then go buy anything you want without a need to prepare it, wait few days while it gets done and etc. Providence is abundant, full of established setllements, slow on any events.

As far as I've understood, in none of these 3 games you're meant to do about anything "without any risks".

The people that are outside enjoying the summer don't really count for finding out why there's so few action on Popham, they would be/are inactive on Providence as well.
Popham is for hardcore PVP, so everyone who's into that or wants to find out whether they're into that jumps over there, and as usual it takes time and lots of interaction to come anywhere relevant. Now to get there, get animals, keep them alive until the server ends and protect them from all those hardcore PVPers that want nothing but to cause grief and tears, it takes a bit. It especially requires you not to fool around town or someplace else, but to use your time wisely.
As for "I walked 2 hours and only found one person".
I've settled much closer to Popham than I intented to and while there are ruins of previous settlements there already, I've only seen a total of 2 people come by my area in those 4 or 5 days that I'm sitting there now. On Providence you could walk a week without ever seeing someone.
I guess we'll all have to wait until the bigger factions/towns/groups feel "set up" to go out and raid.
But honestly, to keep the animals safe you came there for, going out leaving scents that might lead up to people discovering your livestock doesn't sound like the best tactic to fulfill this task.
Building up vaults to keep the characters at that you commit crimes with takes a while too, as well as setting up yourself in order to "produce" said criminal characters.
I think it would cause much more drama and action if everyone would just say "***** it" and focus on only one character, instead of raising one character after another that you're not as afraid to lose to game mechanics. In my opinion, that's the way Popham should be played, otherwise it's just a smaller, yet fresh version of Providence.
Which I'd imagine everyone? or most people at least, are still playing, and that's a huge load of work to handle, even for large towns.

I know it doesn't belong here at all, but why exactly does everyone agree that it's best to have 2 wikis running?
Jesus died for our sins. You should do the same.

Not everyone. Only a handful of people who update the old wiki (by hand, not even trying to transfer wiki page updates with some kind of a script).

Why the hell would you go back to Providence and do nothing other than to go to the dock club, when competition is still a thing on Popham?
"Popham's gonna be wiped anyway" Is in no way a valid excuse for losing motivation, neither is "I lost everything to a raid".
Popham should have been more fast pace imo . .
I was doing quite well but then i started to feel quite bore because it exactly the same as Providence ( even have less people that Providence does ).
Alot of people are able to raid and kill on on providence

What it is imo is this. ..
The initial land rush. .produced a few quick kills and broke the woods of a lot of people who never want to die. Those murderers are now mostly dead. As groups settled in, and now have walls and some defenses.

Those that complained about the terrorist rpers probably took some fun out of that group, as the activity seems to be less. ..but it might be purity grind.

Animals are introduced but they take a week to nature and then more time to bed, so is not an active process than that of maintaining bees. That and not every one knows how to transport them, had them die to freak accidents, or have them kill each other off. Add in that only pigs can be purchased, so you can only really have one type of animal. ..yes, you can build up your base...but some things in salem take time. As Gobble sessions get bigger and inspiration runs out, it seems natural to log out.

I find myself in between hour long statue hunts sitting there thinking. ..what now. Supplies aren't as abundant on popham. ..not many stalls, and if you need things like oiled boards. .you may just have to wait on projects to do it yourself that you can use silver for on providence.

Humors should now be good enough to break stone walls efficiently, so action might pick up again. We Will see.

The only reason you need to raid a town in Poopham is that if its defending a statue, i doubt that there would be any action "but w-we are grinding to get stronk and then raid :(", thats what the carebears says you are "hardcore carebears" hiding in walls and probably quitting if you lose any alt, the servers will probably end before you even commit an actual crime. Among others things there is less people playing the game, dev abuse(daopa streaming/***** people ingame because they speak of what they think is wrong with game, etc), the marketing was a big failure from 2000 players that stated the status last two weeks how many are still left? The are a lot of reason why people quit, imo the mechanics are easy, there is no challenge, "B-BUT THIS GAME IS HARDCORE AND DIFFICULT QQ", no its not lel this game is just plain grind that even a chimp can do(just watch hefferman or biddas) and there is no reason to grind in a server with 100 players at max.
