LOL good luck.

Man its chill, i take it Salem's a lot like Hearth, so dying is only a minor setback.

Good luck was for the musket not the dying. They are not that effective in PVP. Good for one blast but not the end all be all. Work on your swordsmanship more.

It's all about the experience and the knowledge man, I can't remember who told me this, but your first time it might take you a week to get something substantial, but the next time around it'll only take you half of that.

Of course, however, that scenario applies to your early Salem days when you're mostly bumbling around. The hard grind however becomes a lot harder to recover from, as would be the case with ye olde uncapped Hafen. Imagine being one of those mad people with 500 to all proficiencies, dying even with a will and testament from the store on you in place of an up-to-date plan estate. That means you'd need to recover 201-500 of all proficiencies to get back to where you were.

Edit: oh and keep an eye out for the next expedition, whenever it might happen. I found it a lot less stressful to risk a char on there since I already knew the server would have ended eventually. Much more liberating and lets you play more relaxed.

Losing a char with under 100 stats in each cat is not that big a deal.

Losing a char with a few 100 in each cat sucks total ass
lol

I cannot imagine losing a char with 500 in each stat. That would be GG

Some people are actually nice, I just tend to have a bad memory or I would remember the name of that guy...
But let me tell you a story of my first few days on Providence:

Started with a friend on providence, he had started like a few days earlier, stayed a day or two building up at my friends base, then I set out to find us some really nice place, you know, biomes, but more importantly lime, mine, water, ....

After traveling a little bit, I ran into someone, and ofc not being afraid to approach someone if your char is like 3 days old, turned out that guy was really nice and had a base, a little far away but we made it, he borrowed me his canoe from time to time due to me not yet being able to swim. ^^

Once there, he showed me around, there were some nice places nearby that he ofc all knew, and one really hit what I was looking for, a lime pit big enough for at least one eternity, water, biomes, clay, a mining node and all in perfect position, we moved there immidiatly, was an awesome find.
He helped with locating/building the mine entrance, and a smelter and some other stuff, again, some people just are nice.

Thanks again, and sorry I forgot your name! :D
(I am really, really bad with names...)

It's really not that bad. Hitting 500+ is both dumb and easy.

Yeah with a proper feasting set that's not that bad. It's more the proficiencies that make me want to cry xD

Don't forget you have to be some little kid, self employed, or half no life period.

Folks who excel in this game fall into one of those categories... so if you get wiped outrageously... it wasn't because you failed... ti was because you had more going for you than they could manage!

My town, Junction City, would not be what it is unless I had sacrificed along the way.

Something to consider.

If you want to be a real part of Salem's story= you will give up something integral in your life... (assuming you have one) and/or you will compete with those who have nothing... lmao.
