Somebody said that the number of skelly's lying around town made them think that witches weren't interested in harvesting them. But since witches can't easily go to town, that's not a good indicator of whether or not bodies should despawn after a period of time.

Witches probably aren't interested in harvesting them, as almost all of those are just random alts who will never have descendants.
