In most cases I think what Procne is trying to say is that statement. Not strictly "Not be cured at all."
So yeah, you guys maybe misunderstanding each other.

Chief_PeePooKaka wrote:I have heard the call. I apologize to all for my long absence. When the great spirit yielded his control of the world to the new greatest spirit I embarked on a spirit walk. My task was to understand John Carver. In my haste to complete this task I attempted to lay my eyes upon this new entity. I was not ready for the power and brilliance I beheld. My eyes were overwhelmed and I was blinded. Plunged into darkness I sought solace deep in the lumberwoods.
The greatest spirit John Carver was angry at my hubristic attempt to stand in his presence. Simply killing me would not suffice as punishment. He decided that my tribe would pay for my sin. He unleashed a disease of madness upon them. It led many to take their own lives. Others simply wandered off into the darkness and have not been heard of since. Mother earth wind whispered news of the tragedy to me. The creatures of the forest cried out to me, " Chief, who will protect us now?" I could not answer them. My shame was simply too much to bear. The light had gone out of my life.
Since then the world has become a very terrible place. Forests have been felled at an astounding rate. Animals have been slaughtered without mercy. Mother earth has been horrifically raped for the shiny metals that reside inside her. Disease and sorcery have run rampant. Every day the forest creatures begged me to save them. They begged me to stop the madness that has consumed the world. I heard their cries and wept. I wept for days.
Yesterday I awoke to find the forest around me unnaturally still. There was no wind in the trees, no buzzing of insects, no scampering of the small forest creatures. Even the nearby stream had gone completely silent. Then I heard something I first refused to believe. It was a female voice unlike any I had ever heard and it was singing a soft melody. Surely my despair had finally overcome me and my mind had broken. As the voice got closer it seemed to resonate through the forest. I could feel it hit me and it felt like strong sunlight. The voice kept getting closer and then it stopped. I heard footsteps coming toward me. Then the voice spoke. "Chief PeePooKaka, hear my words! I am Gaia, mother of the earth. The people of the world have been led astray by the power of evil. I am becoming weaker every day. Soon the corruption will overcome me and the world will be plunged into eternal darkness. You must cleanse this threat."
I cried out, "Mother earth how can I accomplish this task? The greatest spirit has taken my vision from me. He has also cursed my people and ravaged my home. I am not capable!"
"Rise my child." she said. I stood and felt her hands grasp either side of my head. Her hands were softer than the rabbit's fur and radiated an energy that was both warming and calming. Then she inhaled and began to blow her perfumed breath onto my useless eyes. "Open your eyes Chief, It is time to get to work." I opened my eyes to find nothing but the forest around me. At my feet was a stone of the most vibrant green I had ever encountered. I picked up the stone knowing the task that had been appointed unto me I set off at once.
Squatters of providence, hear my words. I have returned. I bear the vengeance and fury of mother earth herself. I will not waver, I will not tire, I will not falter, nor will I fail. I will purge this world of evil.
My lands are where my dead lie buried, and they will not bear this affliction any longer!
