I convinced a restaurant owner to download the app and keep lures going 4 hours a night to lure us nerds to flock there for food

Well, I gave it a try and it'll probably be a fun app if they can get the bugs out. I spent more time force stopping and restarting it, sometimes having to restart the whole phone, than I did actually playing. :/ Near the end of my walk, the entire server crapped out and now I just get a splash screen telling me to try again later.

I don't play pokemon go, but I do do the geocaching. The upside is, the swamp is full of geocaches so I don't have to go into town to do it.

Ya they didn't anticipate how popular this was going to be. All that is like 100% server side from what I have read up on it. Parks and such are about the best places to go and hunt for stuff. I'm going to hit up the San Antonio river walk on my next day off. Fairly excited.

Do you do anything else in that game apart from catching pokemon?

Then it's like hunting crickets in Salem without the possibility to sell them to NPC, study or cook.

You can catch pokemon, grab supplies from things called Pokemon stops, and take over training grounds. You set up pokemon to guard training grounds so only your team can use them. Other teams (not sure how many there are, maybe only 2) can attack and try to take over that training ground from your team. So, there's kinda some pvp elements. It's very much like their other game, Ingress, but seems a lot more oriented to actually walking. I've tried Ingress and it's fun, which is the main reason I gave Pokemon Go a try, but it's more like a driving around and stopping at spots game than a walking game.

There are a TON of features that are going to be added later on. Their previous game called ingress is the same game essentially but has way more features.

You will be able to battle others later on. Right now there are 3 teams who are fighting for control of the gyms. Once your team controls it then you can leave a pokemon behind at the gym to guard it. You get rewards when people fight at the gym and other people of your team can train up your pokemon. If they are defeated then they will return to you.

At the pokestops you can receive eggs which after you walk 2,5,10 km will hatch a pokemon.

They will have trading

The whole point of the game is to get people off their ass and out into the world. I was driving home last night and saw a bunch of people gathered at the park in my subdivision. Turns out everyone was brought there because someone used a lure to get pokemon to spawn faster. It's interesting to see people gather up and socializing just for pokemon.
