The race for the gold is showing the face! Where he will get rubbles and sifting pan if he doesn't have iron or nails? Someone could start a system of loan or even contract. You could give him some resources in enchange of payment in the future days (or even some sort of legwork). Towards Industrial Revolution!

Until you start to produce something which the others want, you will need to gather savage charms and warbite cricket (for cricket team). Start to make foods which give a good amount of humour for gluttony (from 20 to 50 can be a good range), so starting to fish, hunt meat or gather plants, mushrooms, etc, is something good. For now I can make a net to you for free, but the meat I can enchange for cotton or silk cloth.

I'm sorry for not giving you guys the whole idea I had that day. Been through a crazy, crazy Valentine and anniversary.
First in the OP I see myself as a farmer, who mainly make his living using farming. I'm role-playing, yes. I want to make my money by making stuff that I can sell from the field, not by going around looking for stuff. Savage charms, IMO, is not something we should exploit as it is too easy a way that other ways to get silver just ain't good enough. I consider it a temporal fix that (hopefully?) will be replaced in time by more interesting way for newbies to make money.
Now coming back to my point, I were complaining about the fact that most buildings now cost more to make, as they require irons and stuff, and their prices have just spiked up significantly (for me ). At the same time, my crops (oatmeal and yellow-stained cotton) have low market values. I tried to trade for goods but the merchants refused to take them. I can't seem to find enough buyers as people can make them pretty easy themselves, making the all-purpose, all-mighty guys to "do it all." Thus, the price of my products will always be lower, and the threat of not having a potential buyer remain. The only way to make reliable silver is by finding savage charms, which as stated above I don't want to do, for role-playing reasons.
I understand that the better your crops the easier for you to find buyers, but imo all of the crops should be useful somehow so that, even though they are cheaper than the high-tier counterparts, they can still be sold at a glance.
Long story short. I find it hard for the farmer profession to be worth doing now silver-wise, aside from their personal benefit (that you can increase your biles). (I still do it because I just love Salem like that). But I wish there could be more incentive for people to buy them from others than to make it themselves.
We can: (don't hate me) increase the time crops ripe. Or increase crops intake some how.
Or: make fertilizer less effective by restrict the amount of fertilizers allowed, the better ql your field, the more fertilizer you can add.
And/or: require tending the field once in awhile for better quantity or quality. That way dedicated farmers will always have better crops than the industrious farms.
Or whatever you can do to make crops more marketable.
That's my opinion, feel free to call me names or criticize.
(hu hu hu  )

There's about 20 more crops in different tiers, you are farming the cheapest ones... so you're doing it wrong..

You are not a dedicated farmer if you don't use lime, coal or bonemeal on your fields, which will increase the "quality", quantity &/or speed.
Nothing holds you back planting 1000 fields with cotton to sell it to the npc.

There's plenty of rare inspirations found in farming, which even the top veterans will buy from you for a decent price.

Make food out of your crops & sell the food, there's literally about 100 different types of food you can make.

If you are a dedicated farmer, you should already have a decent % on your crops, which will only increase the sales.

I make an average of 300 silver/day by just selling cabbage in my stall and I'm not even dedicated to farming. I replant +/- 30 fields every 3 days on an alt.

I see. I need to improve myself then.

I like the player-driven economy too much to rely on the npc stall. Yes you are right on this one, but as arole-player I don't like selling stuff to machines :( Funnier to make friends through trade don't you think?

Haven't thought of that... But processing raw materials into products is not something farmers do, it's for other professions. Still your point here is solid, I can't deny that.

It's because of you corporate planters that we suffers so much     See, 300 silver per day! Lordy!
I'm talking about a market for low values raw products that newbies can sell.

Grow something useful like tier 3 crops.

This is how Salem is, and always will be, the more established players will always make more money in less time then an unestablished player with 10 times the amount of time.

I figured that much. I don't want to pass good people, as that is stupid and lazy, I just want a market for my crops :D As in, people will actually buy them for something :D
Price doesn't matter :)

This is not true.

As i said before, i get 300s/day just from this:

Everyone can do this, even a 1 day old character....

If you can't afford a stall, then rent a slot in a stall, there's somebody offering such a service.
Or sell them on the forum.

I think you guys are just lazy...
