nails' price

Postby trungdle » Fri Feb 13, 2015 4:33 pm

Why are they more expensive than ever? I used to buy some for 8s now they are 20s and up. How are we Hermit suppose to live in this economy? The crops are not bought by any merchant, our foraged goods decline, prices are up, criminal everywhere. The king is driving his farmers away from their field and into the cooperated mines!
We have to stop this. The resolutions passed favor big companies and wealthy speculators. We farmers have to act, and act fast! The political system we are having won't act on our behalf. The speaker of the king, John Carver clearly stated that he think every one should join a town, thus giving away your right to own land to another wealthy person, work your ass off under his rule, and subject to domestic abuses and discrimination. I have heard stories about people getting lynched for crimes they did not commit, their possessions went missing, their wives wake up naked. Wake up! Good farmers, and act, now!
Everyone come to Providence naked to protest the latest bill!
You thought I quit.

This post is not worth HoB I guess.

Nails, bars & wrought iron is "expensive" because it requires a lot of work.
Go gather 2 savage charms & you can buy 3 nails, go gather 4 and you can buy a pig iron bar,...
I personally will ALWAYS trade you a pig iron bar for a 7 use inspirational.

You're a farmer you say, what's holds you up from farming T3 cotton cloth & selling it?

There's plenty of items that a well organised town will trade you for.

Better yet, come with us work in the mines! Stop with all the work in the farm and enter in the race for the gold!
Edit: This guy sells nails for 20 silvers viewtopic.php?f=21&t=9309 , or a iron bar for 100 silver, try him.

And what in the world would that do with making silver in game for new players?

As far as I'm concerned, silver making potential for new players is quite nice with rare 7-use inspirationals and savage charms. While increased iron costs may draw you out of your safe little walls now and then to earn more silver (the direct result of you not wanting to make nails yourself, by the way) assuming you don't want to sell goods you produce yourself, I definitely don't see this breaking gameplay. If anything, it involves more gameplay and/or interaction.

The prices are high because of the stalls taxation, i can sell nails cheap to you and make even more cheaper if you buy in bulk.

Just look at my thread:

viewtopic.php?f=21&t=9309

And you can sell insps to people, i guess old logs worth about 15s each, turn on the foraging and you will get a bulk of it mixed with feathers in about 30 min, and if you still want get money from farming, do cotton cloths and sell at npc.
REMOVE STALLS!

Well, if you're seriously asking:
First rubble became a thing, amount of ore in boulder was lowered, amount of phlegm needed to mine one tile increased, now ore became even more rare and coal became more precious, then some forum traders just copy prices on stalls without considering taxes. It will probably go down again, when people figure out how to get more than 2 bars from one smelter.

And if you just want to raise farmers rebellion:
Not going to happen, hunters can feed us all!
