Unclaimed Base

Postby Crlsdmc » Wed Aug 26, 2015 9:57 pm

So today I was heading west looking for a decent spot to settle, and I found one I liked, I wanted to know if I had any neighbours so I head south and found a decent base with stone wall(not finished), a house and some space to farm, but no claim on it, so I entered the house and I find a player but he's either afk or logged off not in a proper way.

My question is, has somebody actually taken over other player's bases this way? I thought about it but I would need more money than what I already have for such a big base.

And I'm just starting out so I don't want no trouble.

If you look closely you can see a torchpost. My guess is there used to be a claim stone there. You should turn on tracking and see if there is a waste scent somewhere. It may be connected to the person who is logged off but still there online. Take a look you may find some more interesting things.

Will do thanks for the tip, also if I snatch something from it will it leave scents even though is not claimed land right now?

Better safe than sorry

Unclaimed should leave no scent.

Shells of a former base aren't a bad start for a new player to claim, provided they can patch up the defenses. You may need to tear the doors down to put up your own locks.

Indeed, I can't make stone walls just wooden ones and wooden gates so I would need to do some temporary patching of the defenses while I gain skills, It seems they took most valuables, but they could be back or be in the area.

Perhaps I should just scavenge any goods they left and move on.

No scents around the base.

That would be my suggestion. Chances are they are not coming back. But if they are in the area then you dont want to be target number 2. Take what you can remember the area move on to greener pastures come back to the base as you need.
