Then have another DECAY Event Trigger when "Owner" hasnt been on (X) Claim for (Y) Days .....

Then people just log in an alt every Y days.

Honestly, if you're playing actively the silver upkeep isnt going to be a problem.

So you are talking about a TOTALY Different issue here ..

What is the issue your reffering to? Are Players actively going around and setting up multiple claims all over the place to grief / cause issues?

Some do that to grief, yes. Some others (like me) simply didn't declaim their old place. Also, people put claims on all the mines they build, even if they don't use them later.

This, there was just no point to do it. There still isn't, but it's timed before it is useless. Now people are probablly running around declaiming for this weeks 75% refund.

I know I already did, quite a nice chunk of change to hide on an alt :P

It is even better to leave it in the account bank until needed so it is available to any character you create later on.

There may be no specific reason to implement this feature now; however, it is a mechanism that must be in place over the long haul and it is very appropriate to implement it while we are still in closed beta.

Hmmm, now that purity mines are going to start declaiming around the world, I think it's time for the mining system to get revamped.
It's been neat to see the evolution of a game. Salem has come so far, and still has far to go. Although frustrating, I think it's been an experience worth the effort.
