Why would it need to be tested in a raid? The braziers weren't what he tested, it was wall splash. And the walls would have had the same amount of splash under raid conditions as they did when he checked it on his own place.

Because the braziers are now super braiziers, so that will make a big difference to the raiders ability to break any wall? Well, let's see a new screen shot of the damage. I want to know where to build my next wall.

The braziers really wouldn't make a big difference in their ability to break the first wall. They'll make a difference in breaking subsequent walls and looting in the same brazier activation period, though. And if the splash takes out 4-5 layers from breaking one segment, it'd actually be a net decrease in the time it takes to break in to a well defended base due to regen time.

My biggest concern about the splash damage (even the lower splash damage) is people building weaker walls (split rail) and having them damage stronger walls (Stone). I tested this and managed to do 90% damage to my stone wall by destroying a split rail. There's no way my newbish self could do that much damage to a stone wall in that period of time or with the amount of food I ate to destroy my split rail.

Also, walls that extend outside of a claimed area (like in between two claimed areas that are 5 spaces apart) are now a huge liability (before they just provided a false sense of security in that unclaimed area). If those unclaimed walls are broken, they damage or break the adjacent claimed walls without a crime debuff or triggering defenses (assuming this is the case)? Kind of makes it even tougher to have friendly claims grouped together. Removing the 5 space gap requirement again would fix this problem, as would having a town bell, but for newbs that are just starting to play as a group that's not feasible until infrastructure is in place.

Why won't they make a difference on the first wall? What are you talking about here?

Because you have to do full hp damage to the first wall, so that's your slow point. After that, because of splash damage, you don't have to do anywhere near as much damage. Whether that is only 10% left or 50% left, it remains to be seen by those willing to blow up their own bases and rebuild (and share the results).

This is what I was talking about

The first wall would take the same amount of time to break through, regardless of anything the braziers are doing to you unless your humours are too low to break it under fire in one pass anyway. Then once it's down, rather than have to break each subsequent layer you could just let the splash damage completely rape the rest of the defenses for you. For free. In MUCH less time than it would've taken to bash them. All it took is breaking a single segment under fire to nuke layer upon layer of walls.

So the 'super braziers' we have now would make little difference in a raider's ability to break into a place, since you only needed to risk brazier fire for one segment to break dozens at once. Even with the splash toned down now, I can't see how braziers can keep anyone but scrub-tier raiders from getting inside a place if there exists the possibility to break one segment and bypass 3+ walls in one go. I don't see why toning the splash damage down is a bad thing or worth complaining about.

The damaged pieces were all at between 94% - 99% damaged, meaning only 1-6% left. I used up all my flint after that first splash test, so I haven't been able to test again since they 'adjusted' it.

This seems awfully overpowered to me. It's changes like this that make me reluctant to start building multiple walls. It puts me in a position of "what's the point?"
The decorations seem nice though.
