What's the point of a haystack - when wild oats got so nerfed? I practically have as much work as before.

Why not reduce the amount of hay wild oats gives to like 10 or 15 - and not reduce their spawn rate?

In any case - I feel like all I do now since the update is spam various activities for rare artifacts.

i would prefer to have some **** twice as rare and twice as valuable than have more of a lesser item, if everything is mediocre and common raiding a guys shed of oats (or whatever) would not be nearly as fun.

Wild oats are not the only way to fill a haystack. You can grow autumn grass or cereal fields. Arguably, that is how you fill a haystack. The oats themselves were just a nice bonus if you were willing to throw away an inspirational.

I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

Given the value of wild oats as an inspirational versus as hay, hay wins out for me every time.

The quantities given by wild oats and animals you butcher should be adjusted I think. Also the number of spawns seems excessive. Dead animals everywhere with just their skin and brains taken. Butchering turkeys by the boatload to try and find a fertile one. Etcetera, Etcetera. It isn't very elegant. Frankly, it seems very "American," meaning excessive consumption and great quantities of waste.

Working as intended then.

Witches cursing animal carcasses for negative effects on the player who failed to butcher the entire thing should fix the problem.

I had an idea to reduce animal spawns but create new 'animal tracks' foragables (they look like a paw print on the ground) which basically act like scents to find the nearest animal of a particular type. So you don't need to be constantly walking through a petting zoo of rabbits, beavers and deer while hearing the insentient "gobble gobble gobble" from the turkey hoards, but if you actually want to hunt they can still be found without too much trouble.

Thematically I think it gives a better sense of 'hunting' the animals to track them this way too.
