I know you always complain about the same stale people you dominate over and over here, i'm truly curious why you don't think owning a slightly better pvp type player over on HnH wouldn't be fresh and exciting for you. Unfortunately you aren't given all the solo 1v5 options as you have over here, so you would need to play with a group.

firstly i am a fan of haven (at least the original, never tried the second) which is how i ended up in salem in the first place and while i have been a scathing critic numerous times (as i have with the salem devs) i like jorb and loftar so i do not like to be goaded into salem vs haven threads. that being said the primary reason i do not give haven a second look is aside from the fact i am a salem fellow that does not have time to play both i do not enjoy restarting every six months to do the same newbie grind over and over again.
then there are major design flaws in haven, in the initial game pvp was..
1> less about skill and more who had the high quality gear/materials to make said gear vs salem where a naked dude with his bare hands can beat someone in the best possible **** if he is good enough.
2> lacked any of the inherent "burst" aspect that allows for small groups to compete, at the most basic level without going into **** i have repeated a thousand times generating action points before you can open an attack is not only clunky and retarded but completely removes the element of speed and surprise as well as any realistic expectation of beating more than one player at a time of even semi competent skill levels.
3> virtually everything be it pvp or infrastructure related is balanced around numbers instead of ability
i do not remotely agree that the haven community is more pvp oriented or competitive at all, it is simply a community that frequently undergoes the 6 week "new server rush" where everyone frags everyone, then they all get killed a drop out waiting for another wipe. the easiest way to tell how competitive a games community is is to watch their **** talking threads. if it consists of individual player names coming up repeatedly with "I owned YOU" the level of competition is always far higher than if it consists of "factions" being mentioned repeatedly with "we did this". i am 1000% confident that if myself and a half dozen of the primary salem pvp types were to hit haven in a group and keep from killing one another we would absolutely dominate the server, the same can NOT be said for the top dog haven factions that have hit salem in force with 20+ multiple times with that exact intent and failed on each server to individuals like myself or small groups of higher tier players than they typically encounter in haven.
haven is centered around the playstyle of more bodies = more power so over there players are used to being a force through that dynamic whereas salem still gives advantage to groups but has enough tools and depth for the better players to come out on top in most situations. there are very few players from havens "top" stable if any that can compete vs salems, and that applies to any aspect whether it be city building and general carebearing not just combat.
this again goes back to what i have been pointing out to people about regional game differences for a long time, across any genre the games with american developers usually take a more individualistic approach whereas euro developed games always attempt forced cooperation with others due to the inherent socialist nature of most euro countries. i like to play a game as an indicidual and succeed or fail based off of my own ability not be handicapped (or artificially boosted) by others and then having to tolerate stupid/annoying people as a result. ***** that ****.
combine this with the fact that all the worlds i played haven felt more like a barebones work camp vs all of the humorous polish/fluff and content in salem and there is no comparison. haven is ideal for those seeking to hide their mediocrity in a group setting but still feel like they are top dogs, salem rewards those who are inherently better which gives way to a much more interesting and entertaining community as competitive personalities clash. last i was aware jorb hated the concept of leaderboards, again it shows the difference in design.
