Thank you for trying that out, I was thinking of trying it earlier today, but realized that it was too risky with every other skill green as well. Decided I'd leave it for later when I could try it out with little to lose, but I'm glad I won't have to anymore :D thanks for the contribution to scieeeence!

It seems to me that the basic problem you, and some others, seem to hang up on is that it's hard to reach 100% purity, unlike previously. That's not a problem, however; that's a large part of the intention behind these updates. 100% pure goods are not supposed to be a norm, but something extraordinarily rare.

The discussions around alchemy would be much more meaningful if you instead started to assume that things will normally be far less pure than that, and instead tried to reason about what that means for other game mechanics. That was, for instance, our reason for lowering wall HP and soak -- that is, because we assume people will generally reach lower humour values than the previous (broken) ones which may only have been possible with 100% pure (broken) crops to back them.

What this also does, is solidify the strength players have who used the old system to jack a bunch of toons up beyond what is attainable now. As yourgrandmother said, he sliced thru a wall in 30 seconds.

All this wrinky dink alchemy tools is small time.

You know what it takes to gluttony a village of fighters? Set aside some time and cook thousands of pumpkin pies, make hundreds and hundreds of cabbage crumbs. hundreds and hundreds of cabbage cakes. Storage of 1,500+ just for gluttony.

These time based alchemy tables won't do ****.

We lost the ability to MASS PRODUCE crops and mass cook food.

Fields and humus is the ISSUE and this alchemy / pressure cooker **** is not a solution not even close. How the hell are people going to penetrate 500 brazier hearth vaults when they have to sit there with stupid alchemy tables waiting on values to change and micromanage all compost bins and worms to get 10% of the results of the past?

I think part of the point, as Loftar said, you are still under the idea that you would grind your town to have toons 400+ in humours. With the new system, that same grind you did before, would yield characters with much lower top end humours, thus lowering the overall disparity in humours this game was suffering from. If the HIGH end players had humours around 200 instead of 400 the braziers could do less damage, have less health and be more expensive to create.

Right but the high 400+ humour characters still exist, right now, on the servers.

Yes, no one should be able to grind up that high and this adds a welcome soft cap to silly amounts of stats. But all these systems don't address everyone who benefited from the old system. So what's the point to a new system when the benefits of the old are still in place?

Uh no. Its not one easy stop at the Alchemy table. The Alchemy Table seems to be another tool used to hopefully reduce the grind of increasing purity.

Isn't that what I just said, fine not one stop but an ease to the grind. persnicketty teenyboppers. lol

Try doing a bit of purity grinding, farming, and baking. Might give you more insight as to how this affects things.

This is happening. The larger factions that havent quit, are raiding up a storm on Roanoke. Again, they may not want these monster toons taking mad brazier fire, but, they sure as hell wont mind defending that Trial by Fire with one, or destroying the one you built to take down their after they robbed you.

If these changes lead to a more co operated PvP and raiding system, there will be five 200 humour guys ganking one old mammoth of 500+ biles and large raids that involve more than 2 characters ( not alts) so try to adjust your brains to think that way. And last time I checked, mammoths extinct.

I never bought a glass panel, 200 sounds like an awful lot for me because I don't bother to do trades, all my time is spent exploring, building, etc... the money I make with charms goes to claims, I don't even stop to hunt crickets anymore after the aggro update, unless I'm really broke... such is the life of a broken hermit
