Beekeeping

Yes, I know there was a detailed thread about this (over a year ago), but i didnt exactly agree with the entirety of the idea.

Beekeeping would seem to be a logical build into the game. A skill learned after the agricultural skills (except horti and three field), will allow you to construct beehives.

Here's where I differ, I think the system should operate similar to turkey farming. Wild beehives could exist in certain types of trees. you must shoot one down (with slingshot/pistol/musket) or chop the tree down. The bees will attack you for a bit (draining some blood or something) made into a debuff like shroom poisoning.

From the wild beehive you get honeycomb, this honeycomb can be placed into the player built beehive (just like a turkey) the space below the honeycomb can produce honey or wax (or maybe even rare inspriationals or jstuff like royal jelly a rare ingredient, etc) or possibly an extra honeycomb (not my preference, i think honeycombs should be gatherable only).

When a beehive has honeycomb in it, fields and plants in gardening pots in a certain area will gain a +20% speed buff and maybe even a +20% Plenty bonus OR maintain upkeep at 50% without the need for woodchips (although we do have loads of woodchips)

Maybe even help trees growing.. ;) nice for the boringness of forestry.

I dont know about introducing new clothes etc. for it, but it would be nice for more stuff in any case. but I feel beekeeping is a good addition to the game, that would feel a natural improvement rather than a forced change.

I don't really think that it's reasonable to increase speed by bees (there are already different kinds of fertilizer to manage fields with your wants). I'd better make bees addicted to the amount of fields (or the plenty of field) to give honey or wax.

How about beehives increasing wild plant spawns in a largeish ares (~2x brazier radius)?

Once witchcraft is implemented, please make a curse that turns beehives into disturbed hornet nests.

I like this idea especially. I think the beehive idea is pretty solid, but I agree it shouldn't effect speed, only plenty. I think you should find queen bees as opposed to honeycomb, you should be able to harvest honeycomb though, which can used in place of sugar in recipes.

Yeah potjeh has a nice idea there, I think there should eb some beneficial effect outside of the producing honey (or wax) to help fit it into the game somehow, I just took the idea of increasing speed from Haven. Honeycomb makes more sense, so you have 1 piece of honeycomb.. this produces, honey or wax and the only way to get more honeycombs is to get them from the wild bee nests. You could have a honeycomb that may produce a queen bee who then makes more honeycombs.. or have it as there must be a queen bee in the nest with honeycombs to generate honey etc.
