Well.let me try to explain my idea.
Sorry for my english .
My idea is consist of adding to game Day and Night time.
For example to make more interesting this game.
Like you can hunt at night for more bears or other angries animals
At night you can find more purity things and more value. and yes you need torch !
New Torch can be placed inside house like fire design or by adding to the wall cause it is night)you must see anything!
Btw ,even at night you can find some other kinds of fishes or ant respawn items.
+ adding bed.like you can sleep by using option and it help to reduce your time of gluttony more faster!But when you are sleeping you can't do anything but you can stop this option.
At the day you can work and watching more this world ,but at this time life will be easier ,like you can walk faster and do not be scary any .
but chances to find purity items will be lower.
Like at the Night we can meet one type of respawn items and animals,at the day some other and some same too.

how long would day and night timers last? it cannot really fit within many peoples time zones .
I do like the idea of having a bed and resting in it will make timers lower.

hmm
i was thinking about times zones.,but like i wrote at the Night time you can get same things as the Day time,but more value .
Probably it can change a game.
We have a lot of players from differents zones.
But what can stop them to choose a time for playing)
More players are from USA,probably players can choose very easy a time when they want to play ,they can make night raiding or a day work.
With this idea people can planing a lot of things and be more seriously to this game)
I think this idea can unite more players,some players like to play at night ,some of them like to play at day ,they can choose who want to protect city at night or who want to work at the night
Btw,about bed,yes it will be make lower your gluttony timer,but to make this way some honest,it must be make lower adding your insp points while you are sleeping.
Like if you want more humority and faster you must donate of your insp speed.
It means you can be powerfull but you can't raise so fast skills)Like it is time to choose .who want be crafter or real fighter.
And if to watch more closer ,night time has just 6-10 hours,like it's some another and small world.I think it is not a reason to choose when you want to play or your time zone.

Please use search as this has already had multiple threads.
Would be nice but just like hnh the players would just mode the game to always be day. More then likely the only good thing that they would do with it is add special night time foragables.

Check the \res\gfx\hud\Calendar folder. There is a couple of res files that might indicate something like this is down the line. Although I could be understanding it wrong.
dayscape.res
nightscape.res
setting.res
sun.res
daysky.res
nightsky.res

The \res\gfx\hud\Calendar files are part of the haven HUD. They are far more likely to be things that just haven't been removed than to be things that we will see in the future.

I like this idea but i don't want my character to have to sleep unless i am sleeping hehe!!

It will be looks like real life game.Same with mechanics in this game.Real days growing and getting things.

I think it only makes sense it add if Day/Night is an extension of 'the Darkness' aka it is an extra fluctuation above/below the normal Darkness level of the area. Else it will be as Dallane says, Client modding will eliminate any disadvantage, you can't client side remove the 'the Darkness'.
Also to address the time-zone issue the Day/Night cycle dose not need to be synchronized across the whole world map, just as Darkness if not uniform. Because Darkness is already an East-West gradient I'd orient the Day-night cycle in a North-South orientation. You can easily make it such their their is always a place anywhere on the map that is experiencing any given point in the cycle, and if the cycle divides evenly into a 24 hour day then each area of the map has a consistent repetition during the read day. When ever players take guides into the wilderness they automatically go to the 'latitude' in early morning so they have daylight to work with and play under as their normal playing time of day, by walking or taking a guide at a different time you can effectively control your off-set to the day cycle of your location.

The darkness just drain humority ,nothing more.It is not a night,not a sun ,not a day/
I think adding time to the game will be good.
