Bile Cap

In what ways do you think a bile cap would help or hurt salem?

Example: Help: Keeping players in a controlled bile rang would allow players to keep other players in check. You would no longer have a system where the player with the most biles wins. They would have to be accountable for there actions.

Example: Hurt: players would hit the cap and then become bored. There would be less incentive for them to continue once they hit the cap.

I am not saying this is good or bad I just think it would interesting to see some opinions on this topic.

There is already a hardcap, but it is very difficult to reach it, don't think anyone has done so yet.

it's not the cap that will matter but the mechanic that achieves cap.

The notorious and much deflated mechanic to date was purity. Those that had it could **** out a 25 humor toon in 15 minutes; while those that didn't took significantly longer. (As resources are all over the map- being able to produce quality alts was important... in skills and humors)!

I expect the new mechanic will require more resources to produce the same result; but that anyone can do it... albeit it will take maybe x2-3 the time frame to accomplish. It's past lauch on the new server this becomes problematic and it can only be based on the mechanics that we have no notion of yet. Until we do- all is speculation.

Much will depend on alchemy and long term purity values. If water is limited to 10%, if bins are limited to 25%, if worms can only create humus in the 14% range... alll will hit the same cap within 3 months or sooner. If the purity values are allowed to range much higher... ugh... it might take 8-12 months for folks to hit cap. Assuming Jorb does not nerf existing efforts thus repeating past mistakes... by repressing a problem by preserving the existing materials... without a new wipe.

At which time I expect everyone... both his die hard supporters (who feel screwed over) and his new ones (who feel Jorb has no ***** clue) to bail on him leaving (totally ***** clueless and not worth **** to begin with) folks to play a dead-end game.

Cheers!

Part of me wanted 'titan' toons to persist past a wipe... but with no purity resources at all.

Imagine how many humble pies you'd have to eat to recover from a major raid... 2-3xshed's worth...

As is- like I said I don't know. How purity/alchemy figures in...until it does... how it does...and whether any exploits are fixed (with or w/o a wipe)... all matter to determining future gains humor and skill wise.

I won't bring it up if it's fixed, but ghost pumpkins or puirty value... these allowed folks to increase their Stocks values into the 500+ range... which game them 1500+ produce before any fertilizer was applied. This is a gross exploit. Existing PvP was bad enough but this was infinitely worse in my book. That is was allowed and was encrougaed. Doesn't take much imagination to wonder how 'vets' stayed in power as long as they did.

Now we are into a new world. How Purity is determined will be the future of the game. Any exploit must be reported asap to Jorb direct. DO NOT POST ON FORUMS. if you have any interest in the game going forward;... please give Jorb/Loftar a chance to fix it in a timely fashion.

I DON'T TROLL... if they delay... they can live with consequences...some will go to TES, others will go their own way... point is... Plymouth will be the new historic value and players will consistently bleed away. I don't see any situation that Salem poses more than an alternative for the next half decade currently... his only hope is to capture folks today...next 2-3 months... and letting anyone exploit the game will ultimately limit that populace.

By 2020... Salem will no longer exist if it follows current development.

<20 peeps if that... and all of you... retired or near death yourselves.

Sorry- but that's just reality.

It would help a lot if done right. Cap shouldn't be static, early after wipe it can be pretty low (hard to say numbers right now, new patch incomming), and later it could be incereased over time. That would lead to older server more powerful titans.

Yes I know that food purity is cap right now, but it doesn't solve problem good enough, with cap we would have more balance between person who is playing 10 hours per day and person who is only 2-3 hours in game, both of them would be equal.
Yes no-life playing 10 hours probably would have few alts with max cap, but he would still could play only one of them at the time, so raids and defences would be more equal imho.

I can see here (in I&I) only few people saying that balance no-life and medicore players would be wrong and all of those people are no-lifes.
Maybe more people would say what they want, balanced game or game for small group of people?

if you try to "balance" 10 hours of play to 2-3 then there is no real reason to play more than 2-3 hours. Which would make this game even more "casual" as it is already.

Or: would you take a full-time job in RL if you knew that your neighbour would get the same money while working like 2 hours a day?
