Proposed design of New Salem

New Salem changes:

Inventory increased to 48;Backpacks to 24;pockets to 12 with item type limits...must actually with in reason be able to fit in one?
Market stalls removed
Virtual Markets added and can be accessed from any town.
Legacy items and characters deleted
Horses added, but not rideable.
Horse burgers added.
Multiple Transport destinations added, can now transport to friendly towns if riding posts are built or something...
Inspirational lovers lockets points reduced to 1/2 of their value.
Crimes can not be committed by owner while on his own claim or within his own town under any circumstance.
Walls are 10x stronger
Added Skill level increases purity, (purity spawns no longer needed with extreme skill levels)
Splash removed
Braziers replaced by turrets, larger 2x2, easier to build, Can not be placed within 40 tiles, regenerates quickly even during combat, one player can not survive and destroy one of these. Double range of Braziers, hits for 30 per shot. No fuel, but increases upkeep.
Lost connection stops your character
Characters now log out with a boat while sailing
Wearing stupid looking Masks are now a crime.
Permadeath added for criminals only
Murder makes you permanently criminal.
Farming in a Farmers shirt gives bonus for being cool
Committing some crimes that include, griefing, misrepresentation, murdering your own village, Luring and killing noobs outside of boston, murdering someone with less than 1/3 of your biles, exploiting bad game features earns you the Darworthian Initiate Title upon first completion of one of these crimes, better titles are given depending on frequency of crimes committed and also gives a bonus to the usage of turkey droppings.

oh Pizza is done, just ignore everything above and have fun playing :P.

No. One of the more interesting aspects of salem as that you really need to work for a bit more inventory space. I'd agree with more -expensive- ways to increase inventory. But base inventory 48 pieces? Way over the top

NO. WHY? because you do not own a stall? The principle of a limited amount of stalls sounds perfect to me (even with a couple of high end players monopolizing the stalls). The devs have shown they're willing to dynamically change stall rules to prevent abuse of stalls, so I'm completely against their removal. As to the virtual market: I assume this would be something of an auction house like you'd find in other games. I much prefer a trade forum to auction houses.

Once again, because you don't have any? I have personally experienced it is very possible to glutton up to 200+ biles using non-legacy stuff. Sure, I doubt you'll be reaching 1k biles with it, but as a lot of the top players have pointed out, you don't need 1k biles to be a threat to a 1k bile player.

Wait - I thought horses wouldn't be rideable? I also disagree. We can already instantaneously port to boston, and the world maps are pretty small overall. There is no need to make travelling times even smaller.

Lockets is pretty much the only decent thing to spam for perennial philosophy, or high end cloak and dagger. Why lower it?

I suppose you mean he won't leave scents there? That sounds like a way to condone self-defense in the case of an attack or something. I guess this one could be discussed.

why? Walls are already very hard to destroy for your average player. It takes at least 80-90 phlegm to be able to take down a plank fence with some comfort (without any active defenses). I assume this is a defender talking?

This sounds to me like someone who doesn't like to hunt for purity. I agree that the current purity fields are not pleasant, but I don't think this is the way to go.

What do you mean by "one player"? 200 biles? 300? 500? 1000? Once again, I think this is a defender talking who just wants an impervious base.

They already can - the boat will just remain where it is. If it's still there when you log in, you'll just log in into it.

It pretty much already is, unless you're stupid enough to get caught in combat somewhere. Don't leave scents and you won't be able to be summoned.

Definitely a plus 1 here, but I was more thinking of more civil artifice. A virtual boost to snc when planting, or more effect from feeding a bin/turkey coop with certain stuff or something.

All in all: I regret spending time actually answering this post. I know I come across somewhat of a conservative here, but I think people should take a step back when they suggest "improvements". There are a lot of changes I would like to see in salem, but it is never as easy as "walls 100x health". There is such a thing as balance
