the ability to "light" a brazier so that it is on alert mode (triggered on trespass), lighting the brazier would rapidly drain its coal until it burned out, which would be about an hour or so, roughly equivalent to a campfire.
another small change that would ad to the siege/defense mechanic.

I think the penalty for lighting is too harsh. Perhaps lighting a brazier takes 1-5 Coal. If it were to drain 20 coal to pre-emptively light, sieges would just consist of feigning and attack, wait the hour and laugh as they ran all their braziers out of coal... Rinse and Repeat until they are out of coal clamps. Lighting braziers should be something you are not afraid to do because of cost yet still have some cost associated.

well it has to drain coal quickly so as to not be overpowered, otherwise i would just leave my braziers lit constantly, im sure you would do the same. with a quick drain on the coal it forces you to not leave them lit all the time but lets them stay lit long enough to be a useful part of siege tactics.

As I am a farmer of sorts, don't care for raiding or pvp or even to get involved, I simply like to farm, build and terraform, so Salem isn't really a game for me lol. Anyways, as wiki states braziers turn off in 5 minutes after a crime is committed and consumes a coal when it lights. I think that's lie as you could drain any town of all the coal in all the braziers in 2 hours. I fairly certain they stay lit longer than that, if wiki is true, I would need to look for a new game to play and stop wasting my time on this one.

Yes you can drain braziers by triggering them over and over, but if you have enough braziers to keep them from just raiding you and don't have a town, which gives you plenty of warning anyway, there is something even easier they can do to take your claim: eminent domain. All they have to do is drop a bell next to you and then they can simply pay to remove your claim. You have made it clear that you don't understand or like the game mechanics, why do you keep posting about them?

I was more or less looking for confirmation that wiki is accurate and braziers draining isn't very good, thus the point of this post.

Depends which wiki you are using. This one is accurate:
http://www.salem-wiki.com/mediawiki/ind ... ng_BrazierThis one is the one that is maintained and updated(if updated at all) by less-active players and is inaccurate:

That Wiki is full of stolen content, please refrain from linking to it while the mod team discusses the issue.

I just read this. There is a post about this in the Help section. Please go read that post (particularly the copyright notices). They seem pretty self-explanatory that wiki submitted material is under the free to share/copy/distribute even for commercial applications. In this case our wiki has no ads, revenue or true commercial use. Not sure what there is to discuss but I will refrain from linking that further until I get confirmation from MagicMan on it.
