You can make your own maps out of game, check the artifice and arcana thread.

Easy solution is maps can't be shared in game, the skill itself would map it for that character only instead of having everything unexplored each log in. The skill would allow explored areas to remain explored. Making maps outside the game with map tool is only useful cause the game itself lacks any mapping.
