Market Stalls, destroy them all.

My suggestion is not to improve stalls, lower rent, or add more, but to completely eliminate them from the game to be replaced by a system of trading that doesn't take up space, that doesn't require developers to add more stalls if the population ever actually increases.
A system based on taxing % of sales, a system that would accelerate trading and production with the players.
Even new players can take an advantage of this, with finding and selling inspirationals that the rest of us simply don't like to leave our bases unless we absolutely have to. Or those of us who rather buy what we need, and spend the rest of the time gazing into the very black sky. Whatever the reasons may be, the economy of Salem isn't what it could be
Some of us rely on forums to do trading and posting then try to meet up in game. I find it more annoying than its worth most of the time. Anyways, a more modern trading system than using stalls would be nice or changes to encourage more trading of your less valuable items.
A system which offers not only to sell but to buy as well, all sales would be subject to a tax on purchase or commission rate. How many types of items you can post will have a limit, you can increase this limit through a purchase from the silver store. A system that makes everyone happy, us for ease of selling goods that normally wouldn't be worth it through stalls. For vets with large variety of goods to sell, many would be willing to purchase extra slots. Not just to promote the economy it would also help generate revenue for the game for future developments. I see a system like this to benefit us all and provide a more enjoyable playing experience, along with generating income for the game itself. This type of trading system is not anything new, but it works and works well.
A trading system that advances, encourages, and promotes trade can not be all bad. As it stands, few can afford stalls, they have spent a lot of silver just to maintain them and will continue to spend more silver on rent than many players even make. The value of many items under a new trading system on stalls will drop like a rock, thus everything to make a profit on stalls is grossly inflated just to compensate for the rent. Meanwhile other items will become available and and increase in value to some degree and eventually level out at the market equilibrium. No more over paying for items, no more under paying. Those who profit from massively over charging will hate this, those who have sold items for less than they're really worth cause finding buyers at the right time isn't possible will love it. Stall owners who have spent a lot of money in rent on stalls, might feel resentment with a system like this putting into effect after thousands of silver they spent on attaining the stall and maintaining it. The positive side would be the astronomical rent fee ends and you can stop spending the money on that and spend it on something that's more helpful to your characters.
Under the current system, trading is restrictive, expensive, and unreasonable. I propose to trash the whole thing and use something that works. The alternative of course is do nothing, let it stay the way it is and let Salem's economy remain the pure piece of crap it is. My point is, it does not work! Trading now can only go so far. I strongly believe you all would be impressed with the results of a new trading system that works and even grow to appreciate how fluid the market can become. Not to mention we wouldn't have to rely on trading only with those we trust with using a barrel. I hope that this isn't theonly MMO you have ever played and have come across some good trading systems to know what I am talking about.
Break the chains of oppression and free our market.
