Ideas about carpentry and wood related subjects

We have a variety of trees in Salem and with the new food patch, it gives me something to wonder about. Different trees should yield wood blocks and boards with different characteristics. When using them to craft things, the result will be partly influenced by the types of wood used, be that single type or combinations of many. The characteristics could be strength, colour, slight boost to one efficiency or the other. I suggested before about salting meat in barrels and we have oiling trough and clay trough, compost bin... and I expect many other things in the future to be added with containers so the material ( i.e wood variety) would determine the outcome of products (not purity wise) and in case of humus, it will carry on to the crops planted using it which would add some extra bonus for ingredients in cooking and so on. I hope it might solve the tricky part of humours although this will add more confusion and complexity into the game.

I like this idea. The food patch essentially made it so you went from ~75 food items to ~1,000. This could do the same for wood related products.

Sure, why not.

Start with adding oak trees, so we can make oak barrels to brew whiskey.
