Field Tweak

Change the influence bar to 25% increase per harvest while making the drop on other bars slightly less and remove hay/lime buffs. Then, have plenty increase as you go up in tiers. Leave Coal speed for people who want to grind their fields hard but remove other bonuses.
You'll have to rotate your crops more often to keep the influence but you'll save on gathering hay and porting lime (which shouldn't even be a thing in the first place).

Fertilizers aren't inherently bad, it's just that they're so spammable. I think an invariance penalty for fertilizers would do the trick. And yeah, we'd need better base influence to make it work right.

So sick of collecting hay on top of spamming as many cereal fields as possible on top of collecting mass amounts of lime for mining and farming.

Wouldn't an invariance penalty make it impossible to get tier 3 fields? Right now we have to spam a ton of hay over a few harvests, or even more hay to get the bar up in one harvest.

hay spamming is no fun at all but is required if you want to get anywhere near t3 crops.

The hay spam is not very demanding. Farming is faster than picking grass. (When talking of time spent per hay for actual labour.)
Its very boring though and a sure way to get t3 ****. Maybe its too easy? Maybe it should require humus made from boiled witch hats collected at RL full moon?

To some extent collecting hay has now become boring, because we have to do it ourselves now (due to low noob population selling hay) and because a recent patch made T3 fields even more useful. Suggesting to make raising influence on fields easier feels to me like battling symptoms instead of the affliction. If pop numbers were higher, this would be less of a problem, I think.

I just use a ton of humus, I have used hay before but its such a pain for me to collect it that I find it easier to kill deer and compost them.

For the first bar, I don't use hay, I just speedpush. Saves hay for the second bar.
For the second bar, I use 12 hay per field, and top off to 1000% with humus. It's not that hard. just spread out the humus throwing over 2 days, and you'll need half the bins.
I think it's fine the way it is.
Especially, since it's mostly a one time push. Once you get up there, you won't nearly need as many hay / humus anymore to keep it up there.
