and marriage too! i want to get married and have babies!

i spent a while thinking about how i imagine this working the other day.

-a male and female player can use a 'procreate' interaction
-male and female players can get married inside a church
-procreation results in a pregnancy debuff that lasts for at least a couple of weeks, draining humours so she has to eat even more.
-after pregnancy, a baby is produced. the baby can be placed inside a new cot item that has to go inside a house.
-the baby has a couple of bars such as food and hygiene that need to be looked after.
-after a while, the baby grows into a child, and can be given a name.
-children have a right click option: do chores, with several options available such as make hay, or feed animals, or forage for x (minor forageables like acorns etc).
-children need to eat cooked food once a day, either from a table or using food on the child.
-children suck at their chores at first, eg take 2 hours to collect 1 hay, but players can invest time and/or inspirationals to educate their child. after a massive effort, the child should be quite useful at performing chores.
-children have a happiness bar, which must be filled by giving them toys, food, affectionate interactions etc.
-if the child is unhappy, it will misbehave in ways such as randomly taking items out of containers and putting them on the ground.
-children born out of wedlock may misbehave whether or not they're happy (just because it wouldn't fit with the game setting to have unmarried women producing bastards everywhere)
-maybe add a new building in which to store items for children to use in chores/place items they produce
-children can be murdered by other players, but with severe negative effects worse than regular murder.

i reckon this would be awesome fun!

So you want the devs to make you a terrible bot?

I think the main problem with this is that people would be able to murder the children and get a ton of bad press.

well, i'm more interested in just having the children than their uses. but yeah i guess i do want that lol

good point about the bad press. maybe instead the children could run away if not cared for properly, or be scared away by other players so they can get 'lost'. there should be some ways that the children could be lost.

also, children that are abandoned or unwanted etc could be adopted by other players

Interesting as this idea sounds, I don't think it's a good idea in a game like this. Child hardship or injury or death would be bad press, even having them run away or 'vanish' is a bad idea. No matter what safeguards the devs tried to put on them, it wouldn't end well.
