I love it! This game needs it!

Ok, I always err on the side of under developing an idea that I post on the suggestions board in case someone has a good argument against it and so that I can hear inputs from other people and we can develop the idea together. But this isn't an idea, certainly not one that needs its own thread. I'm also sure that it has been suggested before. But perhaps you could expand your idea a little, for example, what purpose would beer serve? Would it provide a bonus or would it be a type of "food" for gluttony? I could imagine it healing a lot of Phlegm and YB but if used in gluttony it would "give" negative blood and black bile, which might be handy (the blood bit at least).

Not drunk yet! Yes a food make it so you could use various cerals to make different types of beer by brewing them in a barrel for a amount of time with like a sourdough starter or just make a yeast. Oatmeal(not sure on amount) + Full barrell + sourD or yeast = Oatmeal porter. Wheat + blah + blah = Wheat ale or something. Make all sorts of combos!

Ya and give it an effect if alot is consumed for drunkeness that not sure what it should be. Hell even give a hangover effect!

Sounds good to me. I like beer but wine also is possible. Just lok at the new world vintages in Virginia. And the fact that new world vines saved european vines from phyloxeria in the early 20th century.

Well ya but we don't have to get real technical about it if a new crop would make things too messy. Just think beer would be fitting as it was what alot of people depended on to survive drinking water in alot of places would make you deathly ill.

Wine would be cool too but that would also need a new crop. I was just thinking it could be something different to do with all the cerals.
