New Flattening Tool

Postby colesie » Thu May 16, 2013 2:53 am

Currently, flattening is a very tedious stage of any new base's construction. I present, the lawn roller.

Can be pulled by a player to flatten land based on the tile you started pulling it on. Drains phlegm as you pull it but flattens multiple tiles very quickly. Can be used for spreading out dirt and flattening mounds of dirt.
Later when we get horses and cattle, these can be pulled without the loss of phlegm to the player. Simply attach this to your domesticated animal, tie a rope around the animal's neck and lead it in the direction you would like to flatten land.

I wouldn't mind seeing some sort of plow as well. First you plow the earth to make it soft and manageable and then you go over it with this. Repeat the process until level.

This would really be all kinds of awesome. If there's one thing I hate in this game, it's levelling land.

I hope it only can flatten small differences and not any height difference. The latter would be ridiculous.

One of about a dozen suggestions for this, unfortunately. Really hope something is done as this is the most overly tedious aspect.

But what you show is used to compact the dirt after it's been moved around so that it's relatively smooth. It doesn't move dirt around before hand. :|

I would honestly love this, currently i have a base half finished because of the time it takes to level the land is just too much at the moment for me 60 +/- over 4k+ tiles and this would make life so much easier and allow for bigger base expansions in the future for everyone.

Hope that this is something accessible to early-mid game players.

I'm all up for new means to flatten land. The ground in Salem tends to have too many little bumps sometimes. So very irritating.
