Mining suggestion

I know the devs are trying to renew mining system so I make this suggestion regarding the map. As I see now, mine has its own map so in order to have a better purity metal source, one has to build another mine entrance. I think that will make Salem cluttered with mine entrances. So instead of that, why don't you synchronize underground map with the upper level, which means if there is a copper vein near the current iron mine, the nearer you mine to copper vein, the more copper boulders you get. This applies for higher purity nodes of same or different metals as well. Also, metal veins should have limited radius so the farther you mine from the entrance, the better chance of cave in might happen.

That's how mining works in HnH currently. It has its pros and cons. However I think such change might require wipe of existing mines, since some might be overlapping

I had assumed it was the same as HnH, hadn't really tested it out though as my mines aren't that close I can't be bothered.

I wonder if we could build stamp mills in mine. If not, a sort of fast transportation down there would be nice. Railed cart, maybe so we can transport boulders to entrance faster.

aren't sleds supposed to do that sort of work?

sleds are faster, 'cause you can transport 5 instead of 1

When I suggested a faster transportation, I mean something faster than a sled with same or better capacity. What's the point of suggesting something already in game,eh?

Difference between sleds and minecarts: When you pull sleds, they constantly get caught on everything, and mine carts follow rails so that problem wouldn't exist. I would imagine it would also be faster to simply push a sled and watch it go to it's destination rather than having to guide it.

Yeah the current mine system could get much better. It would be awesome if all of the mine maps were some how connected, and you could bridge one mine entrance to another and build underground passes and stuff, hence why mine carts would be hella useful in that situation.

Of course it would take as long as it takes to mine out each boulder currently, so it wouldn't be as ridiculous as raiders building underground railways from boston to the darkness.

If you happen to expand your mine into another person's mine, then some sort of conflict could arise, and maybe there should be ways of preventing that like building walls around the parameter of your mine.

I agree with what people are saying about the purity of ores should be different depending on the area, encouraging people to expand out instead of grinding mine entrances for better purity. In that case the mine carts would be necessary because it would be a pain in the ass to try to guide a sled through narrow, long 1 tile wide passages.

You haven't played HnH lately
