Spyglass...

This would be equiped and would allow you to pan your view in the direction you are pointing with the spyglass, allowing you to see things in the distance first hand.

Don't we have radar? Not to mention enders. How would this add to that? Or perhaps a better way of asking this would be, what makes this valuable enough to devote a valuable slot to?

A spyglass would be a fitting item in this theme in my opinion. It's a proper implementation that's tricky.

Yes a spy glass allowing you to see 400 yards, giving carebears and no lifers all the more chance to hard in the darkness and never see combat

would be cool if it was somewhat realistic, as in you see a circle in that direction, and take in consideration height so you could climb a mountain and get better views
