As an alternative to musket balls, we should have shot. Guns loaded with shot would hit in a cone rather than a line, but damage would decrease with distance, proportionate to the angle of the cone of fire. Muskets would have a narrower cone, and pistols wider. The point is to sacrifice damage for ability to hit, as skilled players can easily dodge muskets. I guess shot should do more damage point blank, though.

As for historical accuracy, muskets were commonly loaded with shot for hunting, because they were horribly inaccurate so you couldn't really hit anything with balls unless you had a whole line of musketeers firing at it.

Can we have something like the blunderbuss to fire shot instead of musket?

Some people still hunt with black powder (muzzleloader) shotguns. I say if you can't hit what you were aiming at on the first shot, you don't deserve dinner.

I'd hate to see 2 deers charging at me just because the shot spreads too wide. I suggest that shot can be made of anything from scrapped stones to nails as an alternative ammunition to musket balls.

Sure why not.

But then, it's also your business if you use stomp and get two animals on you, so I think the risk versus reward calculation is valid in this case.

On the other hand, it could also be handy for slaughtering whole groups of small game at once, potentially. Tired of chasing crickets or rabbits around? Blast them with a Blunderbuss and then just casually collect the bodies of the dead, dead small game. (They have very little HP, so it's believable a single "ball" would end them if it works anything like a musket ball now.)

It would also make for more interesting PVP shenanigans, with people dancing around trying to get close to each other and unload the full load of shot in someone's face.

Or only pretending to and not.

Or pretending to and suddenly using a melee move and pulling a sword.

Or you could use them to blast little crowds of noobs.

Like shotgun. If you mean like canister/grape shot used in muzzle loading cannons ( pirates of the Caribbean aside) , the shot would tear up your game to pieces.
