Item Idea- Paper for writing on

While I think signs are good and fine, I think being able to write a message on a piece of paper or a scroll would be nice. I think it would be a nice roleplaying element in that you would find old notes and ledgers in abandoned bases and such. Also, I feel like its unnecessarily hard to communicate with your neighbors in salem. By having paper you could curtail ( maybe only slightly) outside-of-client communication, which I think breaks game continuity/atmosphere a little.

Either it could be something you could only buy in Boston from the homeland or you could add a small production line that might just be mulling wood chips, pressing, and drying into paper. Then you could use a quill (made from a feather?) and input text like you do for signs. You could even go a little further and have simple drawing functionality too. Users could create maps and outlines for towns. All in all I think paper would be a big addition for the social life of Salem.

Anyways, What do you guys think?

I like it :)
One of the main things I hate about the current in-game communications: if you kin someone and they get murdered, you have no real means to contact them again (unless you put up other communication channels beforehand).

As a lean-in on your idea: I'd love to be able to use the postmaster in Boston to send mails. If you have someone kinned (even if they have been murdered), the server still knows which account that character belonged to (since he can still be inherited from and such). As such, let us send mails to the accounts of kinned characters. Possibly some kind of fee, depending on the weight of the letter, quality of paper, ...

Would love to have it.

There is also another thread about it.

In the future, please search out your ideas instead of posting new threads. It took me 15 seconds to get this: search.php?st=0&sk=t&sd=d&sr=posts&keywords=paper&fid%5B%5D=12 5 pages of posts about paper.
