a few suggestions, something must be done about the missing wood teepee thing in the middle of the stone ring firepit. also when clicking on logs to chop wood sometimes the positioning does not work at all. same with fires, i dont know how long it took me to figure out i was just standing the smallest bit off the perfect spot to use a fire to cook a snail. i thought i was missing something . terribly infuriating trying to use a new skill and have it not work because your one millionth of a millimeter off the right spot.

Where to start. The stone ring is supposed to be empty, until you place branches in it to make a fire. After it burns out you can put branches in again, so on and so on.

Logs, yes, they seem to be able to be used from one side. If the side is blocked all you need to do is pick it up and turn it around. The point will be in the direction you are facing when you put it down.

To cook on fires you do not have to stand in the "perfect spot." You must lock on to the fire using your right click. If you walk away or move even a bit, you must lock on again. So it's about locking on, not standing in a specific spot.

Hope this information helps you have an easier time. :)

I think the real problem with the stone rings is that when empty they are extremely difficult to click. It's worse than the ladders leading out of mines.

Not only that, but when you DO manage to get some fuel into them, you have to be careful not to click too low, or you'll click BETWEEN the pieces of wood in the graphic! :(

My workarounds for this are to zoom in close when trying to place fuel in an empty ring, and to focus on the one extra-large rock, since it's easier to hit. When there is wood in the ring, aim for the PEAK of the wood cone, since there are no gaps there.

However, these are just workarounds to a bad design. If you have to click on a polygon belonging to the object in order to interact with it, MAKE IT EASY TO HIT.
Possible changes:
-Make the stones larger
-Add a bottom to the ring so you can select it by clicking in the middle

I find the problem of having to click on small things like stone rings and ladder rungs annoying. It's not game breaking, but some alterations would be nice. Putting an ash graphic in the bottom of firepit that can be clicked on would be perfect. And making the ladder out of the mine into some sort of wooden plank ladder where the planks are wider and easier to click on than whatever material it is now (steel rung?) would probably fix those problems.

Oh, my mistake! I guess I'm the only person in the entire Salem playerbase who gets fed up with trying to precisely click tiny objects. It's funny, 'cause I had thought that others might have had similar experiences to me, but if you say otherwise, I suppose you're right.

Those both sound like reasonable suggestions, although according to shaunsred, you me and the OP are all wrong, so...I guess not?

Having other people invalidate your personal experience with a single sentence sure is confusing. :?

Ignore the trolls here. Their posts will often get removed if reported.

As far as the fireplace, yes, I agree, too, that it could use a better graphic. Even zoomed in, you still have to click on a rock instead of anywhere inside the ring. Having the whole ring as the active spot for selection would make it much easier if the art isn't going to get changed any more.
