Rest option near fireplace could be nice option. Not without it in my opinion.

any fire would be okay too- like an AoE healing around fireplaces or ovens, chara must not be in guard stance and has to stay in one spot for at least 5 seconds before the AoE effects them?

If it required you to sit down to get the healing, and the process of standing back up takes a few seconds, this might be pretty cool.

Newbies would have a regen alternative now that hunting is so much more difficult for them. At least this would give an okay alternative to picking mushrooms and berries on a straw all day.
