it would be really nice if all inspirationals had tooltips descibing which proficiencies they raise, by how much ... currently you're practically forced to tap to the wiki, to have half a clue what to make to get going

If you mouse over them I thought most of them did.

All of them do as far as I've ever seen. The basic values are shown on a tooltip before you select the recipe and they are shown if you hover over the inspirational, with adjustments for purity, if any.

this is only on ender's client however, and only when that inspirational has a valid wiki entry.

Vanilla doesn't have tooltips? I've never used it for more than a few minutes. Just another reason to use Ender's I guess.

Vanilla has tooltips on items. My client has tooltips on recipes icons (loaded from wiki) and also highlights proficiency gains relevant to currently selected skill in character window.

Not to derail or anything, but what makes a wiki entry NOT work for your client, Ender?
Simple Crucifixes for example, doesn't give any information, although it's wiki article looks fine. However, the quote on it's tooltip also ends with a ^ instead of a " which may have caused some formatting issues or something.
