I'm not here to whine about the timber pile, I like that it takes 5 days, and 40 boards and that you might end up with mouldy boards, as sevenless said in the only thread I could find about timber piles, this is what gives things value.
All I am suggesting is that when you finishing collecting the board from a pile, the 10 rocks are scattered around and you can pick them up to use in the next pile, I don't see that it would cause any balance issues. And the code exists in the form of scattering wood blocks upon destroying a stump.

Yes please. Even though the rocks appear to be granite, I'd settle for stone.

Obviously YOU didn't. The rocks are there to keep the lowest layer of boards well above the ground so air can pass freely to help drie the planks and moisture from the earth does not spoil the wood. So there is no reason at all why you could not re-use them. In fact you would only take the boards and use them right there on the same spot.

But mold often gets into the boards anyway. Obviously, the mold grows up onto the rocks from the ground so once you've used the rocks once and they're all moldy, you don't want to use them again. It would be nice to be able to reuse the rocks just to avoid the trip to the dross storage to get more of the things.
