Being killed a few times i have the snout full (If you pardon me the saying)
I know in some way this topic had come a few times now. But since it is important (because people are thinking of leaving the game)
Please add pro, contra and what would you do.

PVE
pro
no devastating frustration (leading to quit the game)
some people find the crafting game they had searched for years (leading to new players)

contra
none

some people would:
pay monthly to have such a game
buy an offline version for 100 Euro
tolerate more aggressive mobs (for example wolfs that will chase you)
tolerate a faster decay of stuff not build in a claim (for the resource sink)
being happy about not having an organized group of blackmailer that will dominate the game an terrorize newbies (will lead to people staying)

every argument against PvE as I read so far comes from the blackmailers: aha!

If you want to find out what will happen if a game with permadeath and an economy runs for a while you just have to look in an ecology book and deduce there findings:
Some will group together overpowering the rest - case closed (also see monopols in real life economy).

So now that we know what will happen (and also see it in the game so far) please create an option for the people who want to have fun and a short escape of the real world.

This is a real cool game. Isearched for something like that a long time now. And even if death is unnverving.

THANK YOU developers. THANK YOU a lot.

What? Are you asking for a single player Salem game or a PVE server, I don't even understand what you are saying.

for some Player it is not fun to deal with others. Thats why an offline version is listed as a game some player would play. It adds an idea to the "collection"

developers are under the pressure to create something that in the end result in money. It is my intention to point out that there are a lot of people who find Salem a good game for the crafting but want to do this peacefully. Those people hope for SOME kind of option like PvE or Offline

Pros:
Carebears stop whining.

Cons:
Goes against everything the developers stand for.

It will never happen.......ever....no really it wont.

Fun or not salem is a MMO and there is no room or want for a pve version.

There obviously is want, but there really is no room for it.

I think the idea for this will be redundant once the game have been balanced more (whatever that entails). Right now we have groups of people with nothing to do but become a menace for all those starting out/still having things to do. As long as they are kept occupied, like they have been with testing the new defence & raid systems, the rest of us can go about our days without too much hassle.

Im sure there will be incentives for the "top guns" to go to the darkness and stay there. The rest uf us will then be raided occasionally, but the "great guys" will focus on the darkness. As I stated in another thread one could implement loss of humours for players over a certain humour threshold when in civilized areas. Another way of making radiers stick to darkness would be to make them outlaws if they murder anyone and forcing them to be in darkness, otherwise their humours will drain when in civilized lands.

I'm with Wournos and Dageir on this one. The system is unfairly stacked at the moment, but it should balance itself when some sort of goal and witchcraft are implemented. I'm also expecting firearms to even the field a little.

If you want an experience without other players, may I suggest Don't Starve instead? It looks remarkably similar to Salem in a lot of ways, and is single-player.
