Can we have Secure Trade now?

Proof that we need secure trade ability: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=4051&view=unread#unread

Most games have it, you right click on a person and select 'trade'. You both get windows that allow you to put your goods in a trade box and see what the other guy is putting in his trade box. You both have to hit okay before it goes through, and if a change is made after one person okays it, they have to okay it again. Safe, no more scamming.

This would also make it a little less horrible that no new player can ever buy a stall. Some of the stalls on Plymouth are clearly not seriously being maintained but are being tied up by their current owners. Why the owners keep putting silver in them while not filling them with goods or putting goods in at stupid high prices is beyond me.

For real? How many more threads must be spammed for the same topic

This is not spam. It's something I've thought this game should have for awhile. This recent event is just very visible proof of what happens sometimes to players who trade based on trust, and I hoped linking it would give the subject more weight. We need a secure trade system.

Tis true we need a safer trade. The windows in some games have two buttons (can't remember the names). The first is to lock the stuff you put in your window in. Both parties must lock their trade windows before it will allow you to accept the trade with the second button. It is the only cheat free trading system I've ever come across.

Yes, that's another way I've seen it done. But as long as a change made by either player causes the 'accept' to be cleared so that both players again have to press 'okay', it's perfectly safe. Maybe the two button method is easier to program? I'm fine with whatever method can be implemented soonest.

A small reminder on netiquette is in order here. Necroing a post is only considered in bad fashion if the community in general has an issue with it (or a specific rule against it) or is, in general, spam or adds nothing new to the conversation. If you have nothing new to add to the conversation, posting a new thread with no new ideas or information on the matter is just as bad as a necro spam post. On the other hand, we (the mods, devs, and Salem community) would be better served if a person can peruse the old information as well as the new, so bringing up the old thread with a "necro" post is actually encouraged here.
